Continue to be very happy with mine. Put about 1000lbs in the bed this a with a bike and some rosewood. The air bags are fantastic. No squat and mag ride works great. Really nice to be able to drop it a little bit for loading and unloading too. 4K miles. 18.8mpg with a fair amount of city. I haul stuff or trailer a couple of times a week. This ia a very easy truck to live with.

1 and only complaint, terrible turning radius. Other than that, love it.

I've had my 22 TRD Off-Road Crew Cab 6.5 for over a year now. Moved into it from a 2017 Tacoma because I needed more interior space and towing power. My experiences have been mainly positive, but there have been a few drawbacks:

    Pros:
    - Gets the same fuel economy as my Tacoma did(which had KO2's on it). A full tank can take me almost 800km's, if I drive with a light foot.
    - Way more power - towing my 5000lb trailer is smooth and easy, whereas my Tacoma could do it, but worked like hell. When not towing, the TTV6 is powerful, quick and responsive.
    - I find it very comfortable - have made many long trips in it with no issues. Buttons, armrests, etc are positioned nicely. I can easily fit 2 kids and a 85lb dog in the backseat.
    - I never get tired of rolling down the back window on a sunny day; it's always awesome.
    - The 6.5 bed option with Crew configuration is a must have for me - grateful it was an option.

    Cons:
    - I have the Canadian SR5 TRD model, which doesn't include a bed plug, charging ports in the back seat and an auto-dimming rearview mirror - these are small things but it feels borderline criminal for a $60,000 truck to lack them in 2022.
    - I experienced the acceleration lag twice overall, once when I was pulling out across 2 lanes of traffic and saw my life pass in front of my eyes. It's apparently been patched in a software update and I haven't experienced it since.
    - Chrome on the TRD-Off Road is an eye sore. Sucks that you need to wrap/paint trim on a brand new truck(unless you get the Sport).
    - It's a long truck, so parking in the city can be tricky.

Overall, there are a few drawbacks, but they are mainly cosmetic or technological inconveniences for me. None of them would be deal breakers and I've been more than pleased with the quality and performance of the truck. I mainly use it as my daily driver, but camp with it during the Summer and have taken it on back woods forestry trails. It's stood up to everything thus far. Might not be for everybody, but it works for me!

The seat belt ding bugs me also - my F150 had a way to turn it off. I picked up cheap seat belt extenders and I put them in when I'm traveling forest roads and don't want to use my seatbelt. Seems to work pretty good, but if I leave them in, the seat doesn't move back when I turn off the truck. So I'm not sure if my truck still thinks I'm inside when the seat belt connector is inserted.

I have the Hybrid and what bugs me the most is the little stutter when I take off from a light. Seems like it is from the switch from electric motor to engine.

Still very happy with my 2023 Limited. In the last month I've added over 2K miles on road trips. Last one was to Yellowstone NP. Comfortable ride and the radar cruise control is fantastic!

Heading east from Washington State on I-90, once you get past St. Regis, the speed limit goes up to 80 mph. I typically drove 75 in the right lane but did have to speed up a few times to pass semi's. Smooth ride and all the acceleration I needed to pass safely. Even with back problems, I was still able to comfortably drive 9 hours on Day 1.

I averaged 20.6 mpg (based on my gas app).

As much as the nanny devices can be annoying, it did save me a couple times. Especially the Cross Traffic alert. People driving crazy in the Yellowstone parking lots. A lot of folks were frantic to grab a parking spot that will save them 10 steps so they were flying down lanes.

So far I'm fairly happy at 11.5k miles. But this my my first Toyota and I expected a flawless vehicle and so far has had more niggles than last 3 Ram dualies I put 125k on each.

I concur with the opinion that the 2023 tundra with the iForce Max power plant is an amazing machine. I love it, no rattles or squeaks. Just power, and then some. More HP and Torque than you get from from the 7.3 Liter Ford Godzilla with competitive mileage. In the world of Turbos, it is all about heat management and I think Toyota has this Nailed. This should be a good truck, and so far, it is all I hoped for and more. Am I a Fan Boi? Maybe, I have owned a Toyota truck for several months. I liked my Ram, I Love this truck.

I have a 2022, traded a totally trouble free 2014 model for it. The truck was as solid the day I traded it as the day I bought it! Now have 15k miles on rhis truck and like the truck however I'm on my THIRD recall. So the jury is still out.

I have had 23' TRD Pro for a year now so maybe time for a brain dump. Before that had a 2008 double cab TRD, 2012 crew TRD OR, 2014 TRD OR, and 2021 TRD Pro all with the 5.7. Also had a 2022 Silverado 2500 HD diesel high country immediately before the 3rd gen. Also had a 21' LC Heritage with the 5.7 with 8 speed which to be honest was no better than the 6 speed.

The 3rd gen is better for me in nearly every measurable way so far. The coil rear suspension makes ride much more controlled, especially over train tracks, rutted out intersections, and definitely bombing down trails. The powertrain is just amazing. Diesel like torque and I love the 10 speed even though the old 6 speed was quite good. This all really shines in towing and having towed an 8k lbs Toy Hauler trailer from SC over the Rockies to Moab and back which is something I wouldn't have even attempted with the gen 2.5. It is hard to explain how much stronger the powertrain/chassis feels towing but it is seriously closer to the 2500 duramax than the 5.7 gen 2.5 in my opinion with something heavy and aerodynamically poor as an 8k Toy Hauler bumper pull.

I love the big screen and tech, but that has been the only frustration. Not getting both keys initially there was always a struggle on which phone would pair when traveling with my wife, and the memory settings couldn't function properly as they need to be paired with each key.

Never back to dealer with almost 20k miles on it now and only issue is a rear parking sensor that came loose (it is stuck on with double sided tape) so just fixed that myself. Factory alignment was off so took it to local 4x4 shop and had it aligned to my specs at 7k miles which fixed that issue without stupid dealer run around and gave me an excuse to go to 295/70-18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers as the stock Falkens are possibly the worst OEM tire I have ever had.

Paid MSRP for both, but was tough to swallow $71k on the 3rd gen Pro vs $54k paid for the 21' TRD Pro just 2 years prior. It better but not sure it's nearly $20k better but thats partially due to where the economy took us on everything.

Last comment is that it is just about the perfect swiss army knife of vehicles to me. My wife drives it (she wouldn't drive the duramax 2500), we take it on trips, it can tow anything I own but still rides well unloaded, it off roads pretty well with fox shocks, new Nitto Ridge Grapplers, and rear locker, and it looks good and is a fun vehicle to drive on a nice day with the back window down and the JBL system rockin. I have a few nice cars but this is the one I'd keep if I could only have one vehicle.

Intangibles are fear of long term reliability vs. 5.7 and interior pieces seem more prone to long term squeaks and rattles but can't spend any of my time worrying about that until it happens or doesn't as I don't keep vehicles forever. I am first in line for a Land Cruiser First edition but now pricing released (high 70's for first edition) it is going to be a tough decision on keeping the Tundra or going with the LC or now maybe the GX550.

    good review

its amazing how much better this gen is at towing than the last isnt it.

not just power but the stability etc, is just hands down better, toyota knocked it out of the park in that regard.

Less than 1000 miles on my 2024 limited, and I absolutely love it. Lots of tech for this old man, but I have no regrets!Truck.jpg

Picked up my truck in Sept. Just turned 5k miles.

It's been absolutely awesome. Love the truck thus far. As long as it's reliable then I am very, very happy with my purchase.
