My 2019 had 103k miles on it and the maintenance was only "okay", like everything pointed to the guy only changing the oil every 15k miles, never doing transmission or differential service, and he plowed with it... so I bought the warranty. Since the toyota platinum warranty covers all seals and gaskets, one seeping cam tower seal will more than pay for the warranty, and it kinda looks like it might be seeping a bit on the driver's side. Could I have saved the money and not bought the warranty and ignored the weeping seal? sure could have. TBH I probably got talked into the warranty based on my experience with my GMC... the amount I spent on the warranty is just 6 months of repairs on the Sierra.

my last 2 tundras were new and had the platinum coverage. I wasn't concerned with needing any additional coverage with those. Number 3 is used (2 yrs old with 4k mi, certified). This one came with 7yr/100k mi drivetrain coverage. I purchased a $2500 policy to cover everything else. I thought it was worth it. If it ends up with a problem in the next 7 yrs, I doubt it will be the drivetrain. With what things cost these days, just one small repair and the additional coverage will pay for itself.
