I have a ARE CX on my 2016 Crewmax. I have had some fitment issues that I think are finally solved but also have a leak at the tailgate area. I asked ARE to send me a picture of what the area where the tailgate, top and door meet but they have ignored the request. Please send me a picture of the same area I have below. The more the merrier. I am pretty sure I know what the problem is but need ammunition for my fight.

    Thanks in advance.

It appears that you are missing a small rubber piece that was installed on mine. I was going to get some pictures after work but came home to a bunch of rain. That piece will help but won't stop the water from coming in. There's a large gap at the top of the tailgate that seems to leak the most. I think I've got it figured out. Will get pics tomorrow or the next day of the prototype.

I think mine is cut wrong. If you look closely you will see that the black plastic piece that goes over the tailgate is cut in front of the fiberglass. This means water runs down the top and dumps on the tailgate top not on the black plastic part. I assume that plastic piece would direct most of the water away from the inside of the bed.

I have a Z series cap, so the fit may be different. The cap came with a small rubber seal in the corners. It didn't look right so I tried to seal one end with 5200. It apparently doesn't stick to rubber, but you can get the picture. The majority of the leaks came from the top corners of the tail gate. I added some weather strips from auto zone and they only helped little. The major portion of the water came from the top corners of the tail gate. I added some rubber sheet and it seems to have stopped the leaks. We had the most rain in 30 years last week and there was a small trickle on the left side, nothing else. You might have an issue with the fit of the cap, but my experience with ARE is that they will fix that. The biggest issue if you want to keep water out is with the tailgate.

It's a prototype, don't make fun of the duct tape.
