so im kind of a noob. Running an 01 tundra 4.7 trd offroad. Which from my understanding does not have locking diffs. Wanting to get the arb rear locking diffs but I tow and daily drive... are they selectable lickers?!? Can’t find that answer anywhere lol unless it’s in terms to technical for me to comprehend lol

Yes it's a selectable. It uses air to lock and unlock the differential so you need a air compressor as well.

Yeah the diff lock is selectable. Either it's locked or unlocked at the flip of a switch.
What makes you think you need a locker?

Just a little extra security when I do offroad. I don’t often but I live near a lot of wilderness areas and wouldn’t mind being able to tackle something a bit more rugged...
And to be totally honest... I watched a video for the ‘18 trd pro Tacoma and he got stuck and got out when he engaged his lockers... I can’t let the new tacos show up the og tundys now cmon lol

Trust me, they don't. Unless they use their cheater tech. Like crawl control.

I would check your rear axle for this sticker

If it's there, you don't need a locker. Just drop into low range and let the v8 and the lsd do their thing.

I have an ARB air Locker on my 03. It is selectable. Just turn on your air then turn on the locker. My opinion some form of locker or LSD is the best upgrade you can make to improve your off-road capability. Even if you're not a serious off-roader but you do take it down dirt roads. We've all encountered some form of twist ditch. If you have an open differential you can get stuck in what seems like the stupidest places.2018-09-03 16.50.46.jpg 20180820_155639.jpg

I just bought a 2020 Tundra CM platinum.

I want to build for a mixture of capabilities.

    OVERLANDING/ DESERT Runner

I live here in Las Vegas NV

My plan is to put ARB air lockers in the front diff. and get the auburn LSD in the rear. Might also re-gear not sure yet.

(obviously over upgrades such as suspension, tires, and armor are also in the mix)

any thoughts on the differential build plan ??

    thanks for any feedback
