Apple Car Play

Is it possible to use APPLE CAR PLAY in a Gen 2.5 2017 Tundra? Sorry if I'm missing past discussions, I searched for a while before beginning this thread.

 

You can't. You have to replace your headunit with an aftermarket one that has carplay. There is also a module sold on Amazon you can add to your existing unit. It's called CARABC. I heard it's a little weird to activate it so that's a turn off for me. I would rather find a take off unit from a 20-21 tundra and put it in mine. I have the same problem.

 

Beatsonic makes one where you can either choose to mirror your phones screen, or they have a carplay option (https://www.beatsonicusa.com/toyotacarplayandroidauto.html). Link is for their carplay option. This allows you to keep the factory headunit.

 

Do you have it installed? Never heard of it.

 

I had their mirror kit installed on my 2018 Tacoma before I got rid of it. Worked flawlessly. Great company too, local in SoCal and responsive to inquiries if you wanted to call or send them an email. If your intentions are to keep the stock headunit I'd go with that one.
