Pretty much every OEM switch already has an ilum wire going to it. Your best bet is to simply tap off that wire of the nearest OEM switch. On 2nd Gen, the illumination wire for many of the OEM switches is the pink one. Not sure about 3rd gen but my guess is it would be the same.

What Bob said^^^^^. You want to tie into the illumination circuit so that your new switch back lights when the headlights are turned on. On my 2015 when I installed a new switch for my light bar, I believe it was a light blue wire on a neighboring switch for the illumination circuit. Those wires are pretty small and I used a PosiTap to tie into it. Worked great.

I just took another look at the illumination wiring diagram and the color of the wire you want depends on the switch you are tapping. If you are using the switch listed below, the positive is color for that switch for a 2015:
    Tow/Haul Select Switch: Green
    Headlight Leveling Switch: Light Blue
    Blind Spot Monitor: Sky Blue
    VSC Off Switch: Light Blue
Interior Dome Light Switch: Light Blue
    Cargo Light Switch: Light Blue
