I picked it up. Will look forward to learning how to install it. Looks like it uses the same innards as the current steering wheel, should hopefully be a relatively straightforward installation. I will post pics and process description. Thanks again TundraTT!

Should be easy install. Pop the steering column cover off (looks like 3 screws) then you can get to the slots to pop the air bag off. Mine gets here Friday!

Bye rubber wheel! You will need a 10mm hex to get the wheel off. No puller needed. It took two tries to get it dead center but not bad overall. I suggest not to fully click everything back together to make sure she’s center first since marking it will be a crude reference mark.IMG_2346.jpg

This looks spectacular!!!! I can’t wait for mine to arrive!!! How was the installation overall, can you give a play by play of removing innards from stock wheel, and putting on new? Did you require the torque wrench and tools listed in the service documents? PS you now need the TRD shifter to match! I have the shifter already, and the steering wheel will complete the set!! ;)

Those instructions above were great. I left the wheel turned right at 90deg before killing the battery. Then, take the screws out of the lower rear of the wheel. This will expose the bottom spring #3 to pop the airbag off. #1 and #2 springs I pushed in with a long skinny hex key through two small pinholes Toyota put in the back of the wheel. With a light tug/spring push at each post, the airbag is off. Then it’s disconnecting and transferring the controls. One screw each side and a tug gets those off.

I used an impact and 10mm hex to get the center bolt out. That sucker was in there. I put a small sharpie mark to mark center. The wheel just comes off, unlike any other steering wheel ever. I then replaced the wheel and (mistakenly) did everything in reverse before driving it. On the test drive the wheel was slightly cocked, super obvious with my now bright red center mark:D. Had to pop the airbag off and unscrew hex bolt to reposition the wheel one notch left of my initial “center” mark. That did the job. Then enjoy!(I need the shifter now, dammit)

    Isn’t it great!

A digital wheel sounds intriguing. That’s real race truck stuff!

The seller price is now $549. Still cheaper than msrp though. I want to get this steering wheel in my SR5 TRD sport but not sure if it has heated steering though, since mine has heated steering. Seller doesn't say anything about it.

Really hope it has it also. My limited sure does, I felt B/C we’re moving the innards to the new steering wheel, that it would transfer over. Now I’m not so sure…won’t sacrifice my heated steering for this wheel but hoping it will work with the HS. Any reports from OP?

Edit: just tried to configure a TRD Pro, the only accessory option available is tow mirrors. I believe that all TRD Pro models will have heated steering wheel as standard. We shall see

Thank you for these awesome instructions. I got springs 1 and 2 popped on the airbag but I cannot find spring #3. I’ve removed the bottom cover and can see the airbag assembly. Can you let me know how to pop spring #3? Thank you!

Yup, that’s the same set up. Make sure the single male/female connection is snug going back on

Heated steering wheel works!! Superb wheel. With the TRD shifter it makes for a beautiful setup on the limited. Now that I understand it the install isn’t too bad, but some aspects (bottom airbag release spring, airbag power disconnect process, threading wiring through steering wheel) were confusing at first. Thank you @TundraTT for your instructions! Couldn’t have done it w/o your help. Suggestion of impact for wheel nut and marking teeth with sharpie was epic.

Just double checking on the direction to loosen the 10mm bolt. I'm assuming lefty loosy (counterclockwise), but instructions seem the contrary (clockwise for loosening), can someone confirm. TIA

Everything is standard. What you saw was clockwise for a steering wheel puller(which wasn’t necessary in my case)
