Just curious. Playing with my calculator:

Dual 2.5" is 9.8 sq. in.

Dual 2.25 (TRD?) is 7.9 sq. in.

Single 3. is 7.1 sq. in

Single 3.5 is 9.6. sq. in.

Stock tailpipe is ~5.9 sq. in.

I have Doug Thorley long tubes. So I am guessing the stock 2.75 tailpipe is not as valuable for my truck as it is for a truck with stock manifolds.

I already have a DD Helmholtz in my possession too.

Dual 2.5 is pretty damn close to the single 3.5. I wonder how it would sound w/cats, no tubing per/side below 2.5," and a long, straight through, single 3.5" and a 3.5" tail-pipe.

There is a company called Diamond Eye that makes a full 3.5." It looks corny because it is actually a dual 3.5" from the factory mid-pipe, to a muffler (2 in, 1 out muffler that is an odd design, it splits into two paths inside the muffler). But you can buy the 3.5" tubing w/factory hangers that go over the axle & out back the tire.

My favorite is the TRD/DirtyDeeds replacement muffler section, but they rarely pop up used, but they out of my $$$ new.

    Couple interesting links.

Full D.E. Exhaust (don't like everything in the muffler forward, (~$305). https://www.diamondeyeperformance.com/wp-content/Instruction Sheets/K3424A.pdf

    Thank you.
