Please update when you get them; I'm curious to see how they perform in real life.

I will. Not sure how far out production really is. They didn't have a good answer. I'm just trimming the plastic to slip them through without their hybrid bumper insert.

I may also bite on these, but interested to know if Nytop will give you a cut-out template for the OEM bumper cover (if you're not buying theirs).
I sure I hell don't feel like guesting where and how much to cut.
This thing looks great in their CAD drawings; hope the real life outcome is equally professional.

I wasn’t able to get a lot of specifics from them via email. I asked. I believe they will, it just seemed like they didn’t want to put stuff out till they finish testing. Going off the cad it should be easy for them to template the two cuts and have it be clean and exact. For $200 plus $35 shipping I decided I would risk getting ripped off since they do have other products that they have made.

Maybe Toyota doesn't want to have to build a frame that is strong enough to support a front tow hook that could potentially be used to recover the weight of a full truck plus heavy trailer. With the Taco, the likelihood of this would be less, since Tacos often don't get loaded down as much and don't tow as much and I guess they save weight by not needing all that beef up front. That said, I'd buy aftermarket if they become available, because while I use front tow hooks often, I don't plan on shock loading (yanking on) them, just pulling.

I'd hate to admit this after owning Toyota vehicles only since 1994, I may need to look at F150 or F250. If Ford reliability improved and they put a composite bed (and maybe the roll down rear window for fun), I'd be very tempted to buy one, or I'd buy a new Tacoma if it would tow more.

It just seems that Toyota wants to build this Tundra class of truck for pretenders, and they instead design the Tacoma for those that actually do stuff. Maybe that's why the 2005+ Taco had a composite bed, inverter/power outlet, locking differential and more when the more expensive Tundra, well, didn't. Even today, you can't even get a TRD Pro or Capstone with much of a bed (5.5 foot only) because they know buyers won't be actually using it for much anyway. They're too busy wanting a living room cab with a little stub of a bed on the rear end to pretend that they're a man.

I hope these aftermarket tow hooks perform well. If so I may buy a Tundra.

I have a crew cab and 5.5 foot bed. I don’t pretend to be a man because of that.

You also can’t get any off-road model from anyone with more than a 5.5. Please go find a raptor, trx, tremor, or rebel with a 6.5 bed, you can’t. You made up an issue that every truck maker has. Maybe you can pay 100k for an at4 Chevy. That the lifters will go out in but you can still say you have a v8.

Well said and agreed 110%, you'll damage or rip off the plastic cowell(s) which will not be cheap to replace JMHO.CBI Covert Stealth bumper let's you know apon purchasing this item it asks if you have an active air damper and urge you to purchase their delete kit/plug if I remember correctly it's only $35 beans.
These bumpers of ours are not old school 75# solid chrome where tow straps, rope or 1/2" chains would slide back and forth under serious pressure without even a friction burn, don’t get me wrong I absolutely love this truck but I wouldn't spend cheap cash on something that looks like it may help someone but when the time comes to depend on it in a "unique situation" which they always are your going to wish for something different as things unfold in the wrong direction.

It's kinda like the fake looking convertible looks cool but anit worth a shit...

Thanks. I hadn’t been back to the page after deciding to try it considering the cost. They do seem to stick out a bit however for good function and all that I’m ok with it. If they end up as solid as the design and all that I’ll be really happy considering the cost.

Yeah, they were $200 for pre order. It’s at least $700 just to replace the middle of the bumper and get tow hooks so from that aspect $300 still seems decent with bolting to the truck solidly and if you have a lift there are no other options.

I did the afe hooks. Haven’t needed to use them yet. I like this other one, but at some point when I have the cash I’m just going for the CBI replacement bumper.

Wow they proud of those things eh? $751 doll hairs to pick them up locally (I'm in colorado) and with shipping somewhere else looking in the neighborhood of $850 doll hairs......WOW!!!might as well buy a full bumper for that price. Westin bumper is about $1k and you could add a winch and it comes with hookers or it a CBI for about $1k with winch mount as well. Or heaven forbid the Rough country bumper with winch mount and recovery points for $600.00. Yeah at $850 that seems a little optimistic to sell those tow hooks when a covert style bumper can be had for not much more than that and you get the added bonus of being able to add a winch later if you want and also ties the two frame rail together for a little added strength. Cool concept but I would just buy a bumper for that cost.

I would agree, the CAD look good. However the real-time pictures look like they stick out to much. Wish they would have gone the shackle route for the tundra like they did with their Lexus design.

Just minor stuff. For example, Undercover bed cover, Tufskinz custom door sill protectors, and TRD air filters.
Is there any problem with the deployable air dam?
