@Scortow , depending on your location I may be interested in your ‘21 model Softopper if you decide to upgrade. Just throwing it out there.

Does anyone have a quicksand Tundra with the tan Soft Topper installed and can share pics? Thanks!

I got 2, 1 for each of our Tundras.

I don't need one yet, but if the 10 year old one fails tomorrow, I'll have a new one ordered by sundown!

Thanks for a quality, American made product!

    Good luck with the sales!

@Softopper , can you address post #394? Is it normal for the bed rails to slightly lean inwards? I’m thinking of placing an order but would like to understand proper fitment. Thank you.

@dadtrucklife Absolutely! It is ok to have a slight tilt to your bedrails. This happens sometimes with the utility tracks. It is important to make sure that the clamp is nesting on the flange correctly. The foot of the clamp should be nesting flush against the truck. If you have trouble with this, loosen the bolts on the clamps and place the clamp as it should be flush with the truck, then tighten them back up. Ensure the bedrails are inward enough. There should be NO gap at all between the clamp and the truck bedrail. If you do this and still have any gap at all, please loosen the bolt again and start with the top gap by pushing down on the clamp to close that small gap. Then while keeping that in place, push the clamp inward where the arrow is pointing to close the bottom gap as shown in the attached picture. upload_2025-4-3_8-13-49.png

Also, the weather stripping should be compressed down and the clamps should be tight, but not so tight that they cause the bolt to strip.

Most beds have a slight taper to them, so let the bedrail sit where the clamp wants to position it. Take the clamp apart, install the bottom portion into the utility track, and snap the top portion onto the bedrail and let the clamps determine the final placement.

If you try the above steps and you still have tilting of the bedrails, we recommend allowing your Softopper canopy to stretch out for about a month. This will relax the fabric and decrease the tension on those bedrails.

We hope this helps, if you have any other questions, please let us know!

Tilting, in most cases, won't impact the fit or function of the Softopper! Glad to hear that your top has held up for so many miles!

@Softopper My apologies if it’s been answered, but is a softopper from a 3rd gen tundra (22+) compatible with a 2.5 gen (14-21)?

    TIA

What is the bed length? They are different Softopper models but we can take a closer look at the specs and let you know!

    Any update on this?
Both are 5.5ft beds. Main difference, if any, I would think might be the rear window bar.

We had to do a complete redesign for the 3rd gen Tundra to accommodate for body style changes. The rear bars are different but your main concern will be the 3rd brake light on the 3rd gen. The top for the 2.5 gen will interfere with it. Additionally, I reached out to our engineering team and they said that it is not recommended because the top for the 3rd gen is completely different. We are sorry that we don't have better news for you on this. If you have any additional questions, please let us know!

I’d actually be going the other way; 3rd gen top on a 2.5 gen truck.

I may give it a go just for science.
