Thanks. I was picky and didnt want to cut the canvas to add one. It works equally well with the back window secured down or rolled up.

I did 3 magnets on the tailgate with velcro......have PPF under the magnets.
For the front I got a 1"×4" and drilled 2 holes in it and attached T-Nuts so it could be attached to the rear track. I then attached velcro to the wood.

I don't keep my topper on all the time, only when I need the extra room. That's why I did the wood and magnets.

Good call on the 1x4 up front. I just bit the bullet and installed the snaps. I did magnets and velcro with ppf on the tailgate flap also. It's just enough to keep it from fluttering on the highway.

For me, the Velcro seems to work on my Rhino Liner at the front.

I don't have anything securing the rear to the tailgate. it's just hangs down.

Out camping now. Had a thundercloud drop hail last night and the softopper seems to have held well.

Love my Softopper. I sold my Silverado and now need to buy one for my Tundra. The Silverado was a 6.5ft bed and now I have a 5.5ft bed so need a shorter one.

I'm still too new here to post in the Marketplace, but as soon as I can I'll list my 6.5ft Softopper for sale, if anyone is interested. I checked with Softopper and they confirmed the fit.

Anyone have a Silver Sky Metallic truck running a grey softopper? Trying to decide between that and black.

I'm considering selling my hard shell and switching to a softopper. I'd want to go with tan I think. My only reservation is the amount of snow we get here in the winter

All good. I’m gonna buy a new one. I’ve decided I want tan on my truck. I like the contrast.

I had a Softopper on my old Tacoma that survived two Montana winters before I sold the truck with little to no signs of wear. Not sure how winters are where you are, but just my $.02.

Depends on what you want, they're the same company. I think the Bestop has removable side panels with windows, the Softopper doesn't.

That may be your answer. It's a quality product.

It's amazing to me how solid they are at 75 mph.

The only issue I've had with mine is the rear straps loosen on the highway when in safari mode. I fixed that with some hooks on the bed anchor points and some paracord tied to the softopper frame with a taught line hitch. Love that knot, totally adjustable.

I use safari mode when we go camping to give the dog a shady place to ride.

Here are pictures of mine. I ended up buying it new to me from a guy that took it across country. Says he drove through west Texas at 85 mph and held up great. Fun fact, you can drop the top to fit a MEP-803A military generator and pop it back up with no issues. Last picture was a sign from the universe to say go ahead and get the topper. :D

I have a unit, never installed, broken top plates (shipping). One can order replacement top plates (I have emails from the company) and have a new unit for about a little over 1/2 the cost of new. The only catch is, it makes it worth while only if the hardware I have doesn't have to ship. I am in MNSP. Most likely going down towards Atlanta and Florida in a couple of weeks, so can't get it out to Philly for you.

what’s the final verdict on putting up/taking down the softopper with the XO rack? Do you have to remove the pin? I ordered my softopper and decked system this week…looking for the final piece to make it all complete .
