Been contemplating on a set of 295/70r18 or 285/75r18 on my new Trd Pro Tundra but don’t know if they will have any running issues...I don’t want to modify the truck besides removing the front mud flaps. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Same boat. Some say they have done 285/75/18 but when asked what they did to fit they don't respond. I've seen hit and miss on the 295/70/18 as well. Some need just a mud flap removed others need to trim/manipulate wheel well liner some. I know there has been a lot of folks running 285/70/18 with no issues. They are running nitto ridge grapplers or bfg km3 it seems.

Seems like the Nitto Ridge Grappler is the way to go

I will be ordering 285 75 18 (most likely Toyo at3) very soon. As far as fitment goes, the consensus seems to be that on stock wheels (18x8", 60et) the only rubbing will be on mud flaps and possibly fender liner in front, which can be corrected with some heat gun work.

Keep us posted on your setup! More options for 285/75 compared to 285/70.

285/75/r18 Nitto's. Truck isn't a pro but I put 2" spacers in so similar rake. Had to cut the front bumper liner as there was rubbing at full turn. Hope this helps

I had 295/70 18 put on my pro. Before that I had Alcan springs 2+ for rear and coach builder shims in front. Also my rims are +18 black
Rhino. I took them to 4 wheel parts and they modified the liners. I have no idea if it needed to be done or they did it “just because”. Anyway I’m happy with results no rubbing

Any chance you could take a pic of where/how much you trimmed? Any chance of a full side shot of your truck?

295/70r18 with Cooper STT Pro MT. Had to remove flaps, manipulate liner, and cut body mount. 3” lift in front. I think wheels are +18 or 20 I don’t remember.

Ended up going with the 295/70r18 and couldn’t be happier!! Even though it is a noticeable difference on ride quality it’s well worth it! lol

That would be awesome! I'm installing my 6112's finally (after having them sit unassembled in the box for over a year).
Have them set at 1.9 for now. Looking at tire options, and what I might be able to fit at that setting on stock TRD wheels.

I still need to be able to fit in parking garages.

    Are you running wheels spacers?
I think this is where the misinformation and confusion starts.
OP: if @mghtyducks93 is using wheel spacers and bringing his offset lower, then we're starting to talk about 2 different scenarios.
It looks like @mghtyducks93 cut off a TON of wheel well/fender liner, which frankly is not necessary using stock offset. Even with a lower offset created by adding wheel spacers, you should just have to push the fender liner out with a heat gun.

Yes sorry for the confusion, I meant to mention it in my first post but I do have 1.25” spidertrax spacers on original wheels

I'd love to see more posts like this. Simple.

Most of the time it's, "i'm running 295/70-18 with no rubbing at all!..............all I had to do was, add +xxx offset wheels and xxx" lift and BMC and cutting and blah blah blah

    Agreed. It's either...
    1) see my build page
    -which offers zero help
    OR
    2) I'm running size XYZ with no problems at all...
-then we find out 6 pages later that they chopped, cut and otherwise mangled their truck to make it all work.

It's like everyone's unwilling or unable to write another sentence to fill us all in.

Did you have to cut mud flaps? Do they clear at full articulation? Which tires did you get?

The only “mod” I did was remove the front mud flap. I didn’t cut or lift the Pro anymore. I went with 295/70r18 Ridge Grappler. I’ve had countless compliments on the new look! To my understanding this is the biggest sz tire you can install on the Trd Pro without any suspension mods

Have you towed with this setup? Notable power loss? I tow 7k lbs on weekends in summer 3 hours at a time so I don’t want to be pissed when she is searching for gears.

    Lots of shenanigans.
Whats your MPG now? Are you experiencing any rubbing? Do you think you'd have any rubbing if you had a bunch of weight on it? I.e decked system, front bumper with a winch and lights?

No, I've had the wheels balls deep in the fenderwells.

I'm going to 295 or 305 next, but I've put a Westcott lift on since then so I have 1.5/1 more clearance.

yeah dude, I tossed on 275 70r 18 on my stock wheels 60k miles ago, they’ve been awesome in the New Hampshire winters and everything else. I’m going up a size later this winter and staying with the grapplers. Can’t say enough about them.
