I always want the shortest possible wheelbase as it makes it a lot easier to negotiate trails and logging roads. Wheelbase for 2020 Tundras is from 145.7 to 164.6 inches depending on the configuration.

I use the rear seat for backpacks and jackets and a cooler and groceries and it would make no difference whether it was a crew cab or a double cab. I use my trucks as trucks and for transporting more than 2 people I use either our sedan or our SUV. If all I had was a pickup then I would be more likely to go with a crew cab.

CM and DC with a 6.5' bed are the same wheelbase. Unless you get the 8 foot bed on the double cab there is no difference in wheelbase. There is, however, a difference in height.

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
Power for the center part, I've looked at the CM rear window to replace it into the DC. Seams like the backs of each (CM / DC) are different for the exploded views
obviously the CM has more area for the moving parts. Sorry if I miss lead anyone, my bad.

The only things I plan to haul regularly (Kayak and Quadzilla) won't fit in an 8 foot bed, anyway. Protected indoor space with the seats folded up is good for delicate items and groceries, and the 5'6" bed is enough for the odds and ends (weedeater, mower, couch, table, etc.) that I need to move around.

It really is a 100% subjective question. Still fun to see why people went the way they did. There's no wrong answer. Except for white trucks. They should only be an option if you work for the cable company. :drevil:

My wife's last 4 Camrys-white 03-white 07-white 14- and now RED 19. Bad move. Shows every little scuff/swirl

No regrets, the long bed is for me a truck. The interior is plenty of room.

I also think the longer bed looks better, of course they are all personal preference.

I just pulled the trigger on a 2020 double cab a few weeks ago and have no regrets at all. The back has plenty of room for my 10 and 5 year old boys, even the wife doesn't complain sitting back there. My main intention was to put stuff in the bed, not hauling trailers, and play in the dirt. Limited was the top trim that has a double cab option, so that's what I got since it was only 2k or so above the SR5 for leather heated seats. Right off the bat I did the blackout, bedliner, 3" toytec ultimate bilstein 5100 coils set with 1.5" blocks. Fuel Tactic 18x9 +20 offset with ridge grapplers. Even if there was a crewmax version with the 6.5' bet I probably would still have gotten the DC because that is getting a bit long to park and offroad with. I can see the CM and 5.5' making sense for some people, but not for my use case

Not to be a hater but DC designs are just crap. Why have it curve! Seriously.. it can't be straight up with the bed.

Thanks man, just got back from some dirt and a rinse off, love the 35" and the shocks are perfect for the trails I ran. No pre-running, just up and over some BLM here in Idaho.
