So sequoia owners, how’s the third row leg room and seat height?

What about an Armada? I think those have 3row seating, not sure on prices though and if its in your range.

The 3rd row in the Tahoe is pretty tight too.
I’d see if you could find a Suburban.

Just buy a minivan, make sure its a cheaper one IMO, hell buy a used one. If its a utility vehicle, something you really don't want to own, just buy a cheap but nice one used.

As far as an SUV, buy a Suburban or Expidition extended wheelbase model. Maybe used. Personally the reg length Tahoe sucks IMO, tight 2nd row, tight 3rd row, no room behind the 3rd row if you keep it up. Suburban has a longer wheelbase, more 2nd row room, longer rear overhang, lots more room behind the rear seat.

We love our 2017 Armada. It rides smoother than the Cadillacs and Denalis. It seats 8 but the 3rd row would be better suited for kids not adults. I believe it comes standard with birds eye view cameras. We get 15.5 mpg average and my wife proved it can smoke my Tundra lol. Ours was $65k loaded with everything but Nissan floor mats lol. I'm happy to answer any questions you have. It has 400hp and 8,500lbs towing.

I just looked at a 17 armada platinum with entertainment system and only 14k miles. They want 45k for it. I think pretty reasonable. The infotainment system cannot compete with the new atlas or pilot, but the engine is robust. How has the reliability been?

Ours has 8k miles on it. 45k for a platinum is a steel! The infotainment is outdated but we get by lol. We just noticed a squeal grind sound issue that just started when it first runs. Its not an engine issue but maybe a brake issue. Other than noise you wouldn't know its there. I will let you know after the dealer gets it checked out.

This is going to be a silly question but where does the ac condenser drain from? I noticed a lot of water coming out from underneath the engine, just behind the passenger side front tire. It is not oil or antifreeze, appears to be water. I have the armada for an extended test drive. Same color as yours

Sounds like the OP has gone full circle and it's back to either a mini van or full sized SUV.

OP, you may as well keep it in the family and go with the Sequoia.

Edit: this could be you @gdiep

Yep, I’ve gone full circle. I have decided on a one year old Armada Platinum with 14700 miles. Just negotiated a great deal on it. $43k. Stickered at $65k new. From a Nissan dealership that used it for their gm’s car.

If I could find a Sequoia like that at the same price, I would be all over it. But they tend to go for about 50k.

If its water then it's the condenser. I dont recall the exact drain spot but that sounds right.

Well it goes for that much more because it’s that much better than the Nissan...there’s a reason it’s cheaper

Well if you look at the clone Infinit QX80 that runs mid 80's to the Nissan Armada and its the exact same car. Price doesnt always result in quality. If that were so you would tell me the Infinity is better than the Armada like the Silverado is better than the Sierra...

Congrats on your new Patrol. Personally I think the Patrol(renamed Armada in the US) is the best thing Nissan makes besides the GT-R.

Its a global vehicle originally designed for the African/Middle Eastern/Australian/Indian/Southeast Asia market. Its designed to compete directly with the Land Cruiser 200 series and has been a popular alternative for years to the Land Cruiser. They sell a lot of them in the middle east, people there aren't kind to their trucks and they seem to hold up.

I still would rather have a Land Cruiser 200, but the Armada/Patrol has two big things on the Land Cruiser, interior is much larger and at least in the US its A LOT cheaper.

Just keep in mind this isn't the same truck AT ALL compared to the old designed for the US market Armada that was a real piece of junk(sold from model years 2003-2015 with no redesign). I really don't like Nissan, but it seems the stuff they don't design for the US market is a lot better made and engineered(old skylines and silvias for example)

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice. I picked up the Armada today and it drives wonderfully. A guy at work has a Sequoia and I have driven it. I think the Sequoia has better reliability and will hold its value more, but it drives more like the Tundra. The Armada has a more luxurious interior and smoother ride. It would have been a tough choice between the two if I could find a similarly equipped/age/condition Sequoia for close to the price of this Armada. However, the difference of $6k+ was too steep to justify.

I see a lot of random lights out on the newer Tahoes for whatever reason. Seems nearly every one I pass has a driving light, headlight, and/or tail light out. Makes me think they have wiring issues.

Yeah that means it'll be an expensive tailgate to replace if you accidently back into something with the tailgate down
