Got this Kidde truck mount for our fire extinguisher - this one holds a 5lb. It's extremely secure, but since it's technically meant to be mounted vertically we put some tape on the end of the pin to keep it from shaking out while moving. We only put the extinguisher on for trips and keep the mount securely closed with a zip tie when the extinguisher isn't mounted.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
Sadly, you can only do this mod on the double cab. Not doable on the crewmax

I put it on the side of the hump on the back seat. This is on my 1st Gen and not the best picture. Is this type of mount possible on a 2nd or 3rd Gen?

Just some extra metal screws I had. Nothing special. Obviously not too long then pre-drilled.

I almost bought that one but it sits way too far out in the footwell for my feet. The 3/16" x 1" x 48" flat bar from HD was only like $10 (if that), and I had plenty leftover for this for the passenger's side:

I have one in a little box I got at Lowes. Doesn't move around, works just fine for me.

Thanks to Cthulhu for providing a list of parts on how he made his. Followed his design and used the extra material to do a mag lite holder like he did. Location doesn't impede on the seat moving forward/backwards and tucked out of the way.

The Bracketeer is the way to go unless you have the time and tools to fabricate your own.

    This is the extinguisher mount
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00002NC0N?_encoding=UTF8

-Flat metal bar from any hardware store (scroll up for the dimensions)
    -metal screws
    -angle grinder
    -black spray paint
-misc bolts, washers, nuts to build the bracket

Overall you are probably $30 in materials.

I was wondering when someone would bring up the best fire extinguisher ever... I have two in the cab of my Tundra and two in my wife's Titan. That gives us each 100 seconds of extinguishing, but in two 50 sec burst. If you can't get a fire out with that, it's a lost cause. I will take the 50sec over the 11-13 sec from a 5lb bottle. Oh and no powder mess after.

Yep, that's the same one I just mounted. Very well made and easy to use product.

It's under my tonneau cover but I can get to it pretty quickly. When I put my racks on pretty soon I may mount it to those.

    Too many, but not enough....
I really thought these were cool but when I thought about it a bit I didn't get one.

I thought about an emergency situation where you might only have 1 hand to use, and it would be hard for this extinguisher since it's a strike. A traditional one is no problem to use with 1 hand.

If you need help and people come to help you, they aren't going to know wtf that thing is or how to use it.

It's much smaller than a traditional fire extinguisher and while it is bright, might be harder to see for someone helping you. People's minds are trained to see regular tank extinguishers.

The range is short on these and they are susceptible to high wind. If you are outdoors and there's a fire it would be near useless.

I think their great for home and interior fires such as grease or kitchen, since they are no mess too.

Just my 2 cents as I do risk assessment analysis with a team at work a couple times a year and I have started applying the concepts to my normal life.
