Anyone hate 3rd gen tundra?

First gen lightning is probably the best looking truck of the contemporary age, followed by the first gen Tundra.

All trucks made since like 2007ish just look like ugly flying bricks with big dumb grills, and hoods too high to see over.

 

I’d give up my first born for an all black lighting or Harley Davidson edition (also supercharged just fat)

Everything in this world follows the same basic trajectory. The rise to the top, the pinnacle/plateau, and the decline. Such is the 3 generations of Tundra IMO. I’ve had two 1st and two 2nd gens, I don’t believe I’ll own the 3rd.

 

I have 2 complaints about the new 3rd Gens:
1. Ford tailgate. the tundra stamp looks just like the F150. We're copying Ford now? FFS
2. GM bed panels. Dont like them on the ½ ton GM's. Dont like them on the Toyotas either.


Love everything else about it. Hope it's another bruiser like the previous versions have been.

 

The Tundras history is one of blatantly copying ford right down to the original name that ford refused to allow.

 

They all copy each other. Anyone see Ford’s stupid new tailgate? What’s that remind you of:

Otherwise, it would be rather useless when the tailgate drops.

 

No issues with my Gen3...in a few more revisions we can say/feel like the pre-Gen3 owners.....facing the end of our current ride and tired of the media. Gen2 reminds me of the '80 Dodge Ram beach whale look. Fat and slow!

 

This is a Gen 2 that I could warm up to!

1st gen guys sure talking a lot of shit about body lines when they got this in their corner...

 

I'd take a step side anyday over most 2nd gens (RCSB 5.7 excluded) and any third gen.

I checked the VIN, the truck actually had two engine replacements before being scrapped in Baltimore.

If you’re buying based on looks chances are strong you don’t actually need or use a truck.
