Been an auto tech for over 35 years, so I've always driven Toyota trucks. Domestic automakers use the customer as a test bed for quality control....with predictable results. Toyota polishes their crankshaft journals with paper. Most Toyotas are in better shape at 150,000 miles than domestics at 30,000 miles. I've worked on all of them, and driven all of them, and Toyota is the only one I'd own except for an antique, like a '69-'72 K5 Blazer.
