Honest question: made a difference in what, exactly?

“The safety crap”. I love it! Haha.

Made a difference in the tranny temps. After the cooler install my pan never reaches 200 with the truck fully loaded, before it would get to 230ish cruising on the highway without load.

Regret the tundra? Not at all. Regret following the "what have you done to your 2.5 gen tundra" thread?..... The mods are adding up and Ive done more than I originally planned. Only a few more mods to go and I'll be done... right? RIGHT? Trans Cooler is on the list but I rarely tow more than 4k lbs.

That’s what I was figuring you meant. I’ve got a ‘19 Platinum, so I don’t have that cooler. I’ve been just starting to look down the rabbit hole of getting one or not. I don’t tow “heavy” too often, but I was hauling about 6 tons of lime in a 5 ton dump trailer a few weeks ago. Ol’ girl was working. I do like the idea of having the “insurance” to back it.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    I'm like you...I don't haul either.

I was running 213 everyday in Summer Houston on Hwy drives.

    Now I never touch 197.

    does this mean anything...no.

I'm keeping this ole girl for 10 years. erring on the safe side.

my recent regret....I put on traction bars & I STILL have my damn leaf spring squeak. I think it's the upper passenger shock mount.

I dont haul heavy per se, but when we go camping and stuff, the bed is completely full, and I am carrying 5 or 6 people in the cab, plus all the weight of my armor so I am pretty much at payload, with E load tires and heavy stock steelies. I would advise to definitely get the cooler kit, it cant hurt at all, only help.

no. caltracs. @ViktorG turned me on to them.

HOWEVER...The caltracs, while less expensive, do clatter when you go over bumpy surfaces. Caltracs allow the Diff to move down(deceleration). do not allow upward movement (acceleration)

It appears the SDHQ's are bolted in with no movement allowed. If I had to do over....SDHQ.

    traction bars work.

    I got them to:
    1. stop wheel hop due to the supercharger. they work.
    2. get the old school look of traction bars. I painted them red.

I don't go off road. I imagine they would limit articulation to a certain degree.

Makes sense for a super charger. I definitely offroad alot so it may not be ideal with my setup. I just put on RAS so I wanna see how they do offroad since I took my sway bar off. Onroad the RAS seems to act just like the sway bar, i didnt notice a difference after taking off the sway bar.

katzkin for sure. Trying to determine if I want to tackle that myself or not.

Not sure about wheels. Thinking about Summit off-road apex in machined. Something other than black.

Came from a 2018 SR5 to a 2021 Platinum, waited to see the 2022, dealer gave us a 2022 1794 back in January for a weekend, didn't like it all, they had a new 2021 Platinum on the lot with 2 miles on it,
Sold our 2018 SR5 privately, bought the 2021 Platinum, love it!!

The only thing I hated was the price I had to pay. I wouldn't have if my Tacoma wasn't totaled. It was pretty much a wash as I got a lot more than I paid for the Tacoma, so overall it probably evened out the price difference if I would have gotten a Tundra originally.

Yes to not black, give it some personality. If you decide to do it yourself please share your experience. I wonder how it will turn out and if there would be a warranty if not professionally installed.

love my 19 1794...removed all the chrome...on my 3rd suspension and multiple upgrades to the JBL Junk sound system. Tons of lights and added a cap to the back with a rack and C4 front bumper. No regrets except the terrible sound system.

Finally saw my first 2022 driving on city roads with other vehicles around it. In pictures and by itself it seems small. Literally like a mid-size truck. Seeing it on the road cured that as it looked completely normal. BUT, and it's a huge BUT, the front grill in person is way worse then the horrorociety the pictures make it out to be. I'm completely losing my mind as to who were the members this look was presented to in development and they said "awesome". 100% a deal breaker. Regrets on my 2019 have be rectified for another 14 years until Toyota finally releases the 4th Gen.

I truly think this will happen. And shorten the schnoze about 6in - 1ft. Put it into the cab & bed.

Definitely glad I got my 2019. Not to pile on to some of the members’ 3rd gen woes but man there really seem to be a bunch. As a former GM owner (before my 2014 dc) the GM forums were full of “how do you fix” threads. This barely had any of those, and now at least in the 3rd gen subforum the scales have tipped to problem threads vs check out my mods threads.

Zero regrets. I have a 19 Platinum and pull a 4,000lb Rpod on a couple 1k trips a year. I also tow it locally 15-30 miles to the mountains to camp. Thought about buying a 22, but over 10 years, I wouldn’t make up the $17k difference in new vehicle cost versus gas mileage. My Tundra has only 24k miles and is paid off. I don’t think I will install a transmission cooler.

Not regret, per se, but I do sometimes wonder if I should have looked at a double cab instead of a crewmax.
