No regrets on my 2021 SR5 DC but couple of things I do miss starting with the remote start from previous vehicles. Hit it as you're getting coat and head out the door to an already warmed up engine and interior. I would say I miss the heated steering wheel from previous vehicle as well, but I swore to never admit that, so I won't. Improved the looks in my mind with more aggressive looking KO2s and removing decals. I'm happier with this thus far than the 2012 Raptor that was residing in my driveway two vehicles ago. More than capable enough for anything I've ever wanted, or had to do.

Looking back I should have bought a RAM instead. I can't turn on the headlights at night because I'm afraid of burning the truck to the ground. It doesn't have a transmission cooler, so I can't even use this thing as a truck. Not that it could do much anyway. With the puny payload it won't even allow me to take a girl home at closing time! Plus, it won't tow so much as a Radio Flyer wagon, let alone an actual trailer. I bust my ass every day just trying to get in it, sure would be nice if there were a handle somewhere to grab on to. When I do manage to get in it to go somewhere I have to immediately get back out to put more gas in it. The fuel mileage is so bad this thing can't go past a gas station without needing to stop. And the window switches - I have to manually hold each button up/down for maybe 3 seconds to get the windows open or closed. The brakes suck, it won't even stop on ice now matter how hard I push on the pedal! To make matters worse, the sound system sucks - it can't even drown out my whining and complaining.

"Other than these things, I love it." Can I interest you in a low mileage Prius? By the way, if the girl was big enough to challenge the payload capacity, you're better off, she's unhealthy; and you may get injured.

No regrets here, especially since I thought about waiting on the ‘22 but I still haven’t warmed up to the styling. The tech in my Platinum is sufficient….but a heated steering wheel and HUD would be nice

Bought my ‘20 Pro in August of 2020. The rumors of turbos and crap of the next gen helped push me into buying a little earlier than I wanted (my 2010 DCLB Tacoma only had 68k on the clock) but I have 0 regrets.
I just added the trans cooler and tow my boat like its not even there. I have 9100 miles on my Tundra right now. It will be around for a very long time!

The front end of the 3rd gen makes me throw up in my mouth a little every time I see it.

I have no regrets. I considered keeping my ‘19 and trading it in on a 3rd gen Pro. I’m glad I went ahead and got the ‘21. The new truck to me is beyond ugly. It doesn’t even look like a truck, especially from the rear.

The 3rd gens look way better in person. Very slick truck. New edgy lines like a Chevy / GMC but without trying too hard, keeping that classy Toyota look. Hard to describe. I’m glad I “updated/upgraded” to a 2019 but I don’t hate the new rippers.

Traded in a 2019 Trd pro for a 21 Limited double cab and happy as a pig in excrement. If You’re stressing that tranny with what you’re towing you should’ve by three-quarter ton. Did consider trading it in because of gas mileage but I’m not willing to take the chance to find out what the design flaws and changes need to be implemented.

My only regret is not buying before the Covid craziness. I took it up the tailpipe to get what I wanted. Love the truck but the cloth seats, stock wheels, and stock grill have got to go.

Grill and wheels I'm okay with, just upgraded my rubber within 400 miles of ownership. May eventually trade out my wheels and add leather when I get it paid off. Thinking methods and katzkin, you?

I am still in the market for a larger truck and this mpg is something that kills me. I love the looks of the 2.5 gen way more than the 22. The only thing is the 22 can get 20 mpg while the 2.5 only ever seems to get as high as 16mpg. The price is the same almost for a new 22 and these 2.5 gens with low miles. So I almost feel dumb buying a used truck for more than new.

    Some math-induced perspective:

Say you drive 15k miles per year. Say fuel is $4/gal in your area. I haven't heard of anyone getting 20mpg combined on the '22, but let's say it's 18. Lots of people get lower than that, but let's say you keep it stock and have a light right foot. That means you pay $0.2222/mile. Annual fuel costs in the '22: $3,333.33.

Realistically in a '21, you're going to average 14 or 15 mpg combined. Let's say your right foot is heavier in this truck, and we'll call it 14mpg, worst case scenario. Then, it costs you $0.2857/mile. Annual fuel costs in a '21: $4,285.71.

Thus, if you drive 15k miles per year at $4/gal, you pay $952.38 more per year in fuel for the '21. Or, $79.37/month more to drive the '21. Yes, it adds up over the years, but as far as a monthly fuel premium? Not that bad at all.

If it's really a problem, or if you really want a '22, I'd wait a year. Otherwise, the more confident purchase at this time is the '21 with 14 years of longevity behind it.
