All cosmetic so far see my posts in 2nd gen Black out chrome in progress….
I also have the Costco one. Fits well covers full windshield and folds up small enough to fit between console and passenger seat so I don’t have to see it

If I lived in a place like AZ, I would 100% get a sun shade that goes over the outside of the windshield. Either with little magnets or simple straps that hook over the mirrors.
The internal shades are better than nothing, but the sun is still hitting the windshield and heat is bouncing between the shade and inside of the windshield. It's better to just keep the sun off the windshield altogether.
And it doesn't take any longer to set up.

Thanks all, so I guess mine is not that far off.
I was expecting better fitment, Tundra, after all, didn't change that much, especially the windshield.
I just measured mine, and driver side is two inches off and passenger side is about maybe 3 inches.
The rear view mirror part I can live with, but being "custom fit" I did expect the sides to be more "filling"

Charles, do you think rolling it up for storage during non-operation would make it difficult/harder to cover when un-rolled to cover the windshield when needed?
Price is actually reasonable, compared to Covercraft, I like it because it is multi-fold, but roll-ups, I am not sure if it will affect it?

Negative. It's sort of sectioned/partitioned almost as if the construction is comprised of slatted material.

50% tint on the windshield and a cheap shade from Wally World is what I use.

I actually have 50% (or was it 35%? All I know is TX is illegal to have windshield tint and the damn heat doesn't care) on the windshield but under the direct TX sun, unless it is 2%, it ain't gonna matter because the sun can be beating down on it like crazy...

Actually, the more light blocking tint you have, the less ceramic heat blocking you have. I was surprised to hear that but my tint guy demonstrated it to me in his shop.

Yes. I was told it was there for easy install and removal. Not a big deal for me. I do have a remote start and slight tinted windshield.

Been installing film a minute …..
Think of a coffee filter and some cheesecloth….which would filter better? the ceramic films are essentially a tighter woven material thus less heat passes thru
And you see really good performance with lighter shades
On the windshield note a lot of people run a screen and tint …I believe over time that much heat trapped around the interior of the glass …shortens the lifespan of the film
    My 2 cents

I bought a HeatShield for my Corolla back in 2009. I still have the Corolla and the HeatsShield. The sunscreen has been rolled and unrolled hundreds of times and still looks like new. When I bought my Tundra in 2020, I bought another one. It fits real nice and covers the entire windshield. If I ever get another new vehicle, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Sorry for hi-jacking this thread, just it was something I was after, too.

So after the custom-fit-not-so-fit, I ordered a heatshield and it is being aired out of Seattle as of this morning and expect delivery later this week. EDIT: Sorry, mixed up with another shipment, this is coming out of San Jose, CA with UPS and estimated delivery this Friday.
Once I get it I will be able to compare it with the Covercraft, though truth be told, I am using Covercraft this few days, and it is actually doing pretty well, but I am just paranoid about the gaps and the un-forgiving Houston sun and UV rays....

Don't worry, I'm in this unforgiving Houston sun and my Heatshield does a great job keeping the rays out and my dash cover lookin' brand new

Got this one on Amazon. Works well. Been using this kind that twist to stow for 35 years ago. Super easy to put up and take down. This one was a little more expensive that the others, that look the same and was Amazon's Choice. Just use their sizing chart. The large fits perfectly.

For 1-2 hours in direct sun it really works and cab is cool. If truck in outside in 90 degree direct sun all afternoon cab will get hot but this probably still helps. It does fit close to the glass and covers the sides well. It fits in back of passenger seat pocket so super easy. I just install from drivers seat and just use the elastic band or nothing. For $20 this would probably be a good addition. At some point will probably try some other options as well.

If truck is in sun all afternoon 90 degrees I just roll down windows a few minutes before leaving.

You can get the corners a to fit a little better but I usually don't fuss with it and just pop it in place and go.

Just ordered a Heatshield based on the recommendations in this thread.

Got one for my Tundra and one for my wife’s Highlander.

It’s sunny around here in Texas!
