I just installed an Eibach 3/1 lift and I have new wheels and tires ready to install. I'm looking for a good shop in the NoVa Leesburg area to mount and balance my tires and do an alignment. I called a couple shops that I've used in the past but they want crazy prices to do what I'm after. $140-190 for an alignment and $245 for a mount and balance, I paid half that last year. Is this the new norm? Thanks for any recommendations you can offer.

See if @BOSS4x4s is doing that. They specialize in Tundras. I think they are in Ashburn or near the Dulles airport.

Yeah tell me about it, I did the same to my 4runner last year and it was $118 for the tires and $99 for the alignment. I don't mind paying for quality work but damn, Covid gouging I guess.

    I contacted them already and this is the response I got;

Thanks for reaching out. We appreciate your interest. Unfortunately, we only do full suspension build out packages right now. We are a very small family-owned business and focus on more of custom work or full lift/tire packages. No one offs. We don't do any general maintenance.

So your latest quote was from the same shop as you used for your 4Runner? Prices doubled?

Yes, literally. I brought that up and they just said that's what the pricing is. That was High-Tech btw.

Damn that’s unreal. Admittedly I’ve not had any post COVID service done but a 2X price increase is BS.

My friend is the shop foreman for a Land Rover dealer and he said they're slammed and have a waiting period to even get in, hence the reason for the rising prices. I think that's some bs, especially for some basic service.

My friend recommended a small family owned shop in Leesburg, they quoted me $200 for everything. I’m dropping it off on Tuesday so we’ll see how it goes.

What shop, if you don’t mind me asking? I, too, am looking for places in NoVA Leesburg area.

Just bumping this for any solid leesburg area shops. Just picked up a 2015 tundra, previous owner did some crazy AF wiring for the headlights and a winch. Was hoping for a shop to convert back to oem/cleanup. Appreciate it.

I get my wheels balanced at Trick Trucks in Chantilly. Cheap for balance. They’re good & won’t rip you off too. They specialize in lifted trucks but do plenty of non-lifted as well.

I’ll take my truck to no one else but Steve at Advanced Automotive in Chantilly for alignments. Any dork can turn dials till it’s in the green. This guy actually understands what he’s doing. He’s real good. I was having pretty bad drifting issues the first time I took it there. He got me straight as an arrow, and blew me the frig away during the conversation…his technical knowledge of alignments is crazy.

Whitey’s Automotive (yes really lol) in Chantilly is great for most other stuff - esp exhaust work. Quintin will NOT take you for a ride. He’s talked me out of getting work done before because he said it didn’t need to be done & saved me a pretty penny.

On a side note, fellow NOVA tards, I can’t wait to move out of this state. Been here 21 years now. The last 2 summers really highlighted that I can’t stand the heat (on top of topography & lots of other things). “Only” in the 90’s past couple days, but me no likey. Looking forward to the Midwest in the coming years.

Been here since 2009, from Florida. The DMV heat hits different for sure!

btw, does Whiteys do wiring? Need wiring from the previous owner(s) cleaned up, for the front winch and the head lights. Or are they primarily exhaust focused?

Interesting, how is the heat here different than in Florida? It’s pretty humid here, I figured it was about the same. I spent a summer in Pensacola in 2000, and remember it being really hot and really humid as well.

I haven’t been to Whitey’s in a couple years, but from what I remember exhaust is one of their specialties. But I brought my vehicles there for brakes and other things as well. Give them a call, they’ll be able to tell you over the phone whether or not they can help you out. I’m sure they can.

Yeah the heat has sucked but not as bad as the cicadas! Those damn things sound like 10 car alarms going off simultaneously all day.

Lol. They’re loud no doubt. Crazy, but it’s just background noise to me.
