I ordered mine in November and just received them 2 days ago and going to install tomorrow ! after not receiving them like 2 weeks ago I reached out to them and I guess from what they told me they were held up in customs so they resent them and got them 5 days later

I ordered these, installed a few months ago and saw the warning after the fact. I tested the window by holding it from moving up. My window stopped with minimal force. This issue seemed overly hyped but my test was primitive. I’m not worried and would recommend these switches so far.
Best part is the lock and window switches are illuminated at night. This is surprisingly a great feature in itself.

Toyota changed the design of the feature after a few deaths from children who had been caught by the window and strangled. The auto down is something that Toyota takes very seriously and it’s a mandatory check on every PDI that is performed on a new vehicle before the customer receives it.

Those that have pet or children probably shouldn’t be using them. I personally have the driver’s side switch installed in mine and love the convenience but I don’t have children.

Gonna need to see you do a carrot or something in there, like they were doing with the cybertruck trunk at first.

    good call! Lol.
I might have gone that far if my kids were smaller.
it’s probably mentioned in this thread somewhere but the higher level truck trims like 1794, premium or pro don’t seem to work well with these switches.
I think the sellers describe this in the descriptions. Not sure why exactly. I have a base sr5.
worth reading into if you have a fancier truck.

Be careful, side auto glass is very weak at the outer edge. Would make for an entertaining video though.

I'm going to maybe try something softer then first. That's a good warning I do not want to shatter that in the middle of winter. What a nightmare that would be!

You should post that in the sticky thread so members know how strong these window motors are.

Would be interesting to see those same tests with the stock switches to see at what point the window stops and reverses.

The stock switch which don’t have auto up would not reverse if you held the switch and the glass meets an obstruction. The optional auto up feature on Toyota vehicles reverses with very little resistance. If you just bump the window downward with your hand as it is going up it with reverse.

Looking for suggestions/help... Just installed the Driver and Passenger switch assemblies and all functions/buttons work except the Door Unlock buttons on both doors ? Any ideas or just happen to get 2 bad assemblies?

Put the stock ones in and see if the problem is fixed. If it is, install only the driver’s side switch then the passenger switch to narrow down which switch has the issue.

I have the auto up down window switch found in this forum. Fortunately I’m not able to find my receipt and like others have stated my passenger side, front and rear as well as driver side rear have all stopped working. I know some members have gotten a replacement due to the issues with I believe a capacitor or resistor or spring. Does anyone know if using the V peak OBD2+ fusion app will allow me to change this if I put the original master switch in?

You shouldn’t have to do anything. Just put the stock switch in and it should work fine.

Check with the company, they may have a record of when you bought it. They seem like a good company and may be able to help.

Thank you both. I hadn’t thought of just emailing, great idea.
One way or the other I’ll be installing the stock switch for now.
