I am not good at removing trim and all that, sorry :( Where is good video / howto for a Tundra 2021 SR5 to do this in my own? I would hate breaking stuff :)

I just looked up on Youtube and found a short video on exactly how to do it. With the plastic pry-bar included with the switch set, slide it under the front and lift up. The retainer clips are aggressive and it will take some force to pop it loose. Then go to the rear (on the inside edge) and do the same. With some force it will pop loose.

Lift out the module and then you will need to disconnect the wire connector. It uses a very peculiar latch that you need to closely look at to figure out how to disengage it. The video shows this well.

Remove the three screws that mount the module to the panel. It is still held in place by four latches (two on each side). Gently pry those away from the latch tabs and lift the module out. This may take a bit of wrestling but be patient so you don't break off a latch. From there it is just a reverse sequence to get it in place.

When I went to test it, only the drivers window would go auto up/down, none of the other three would work. Then I discovered that the lockout button was depressed causing this. I actuated this switch and all worked perfectly.

On another subject, I really wish they had used an aggressive rocker or slide switch for this function, it is way too easy to accidentally push it disabling all of the windows except the drivers.

    Dan

Edit: Here is the link to the video (after a couple of ads it gets right to it).

Thanks partner. Looks straight forward. I will give it a try. Even if I break something I could easily order a replacement part and swap it :)

Well just put in my order from the US stock. This small project should be fun :)

I've had mine installed for two days now and have been working these several times (for testing) whenever I take the Tundra out for local errands. All have worked perfectly except yesterday I had a strange anomaly on the drivers window when doing the auto-up function. It would go up maybe a 1/3 of the way and stop (relay kicking out). Re-initiate and it would go up another 1/3 and stop again. Started it up for the third time and it went to full travel and stopped. I started working this many times to see if it was consistent but it only happened once or twice more in maybe a dozen tries.

Even before this, with the stock switch the window is slow and seems reluctant to raise (it is a bit slower than the passenger side window when I raise both at the same time). The stock switch requires I hold it up until the end of travel so an over-current condition cannot be sensed. With the new auto-up I believe it is seeing a slight current rise that kicks out the relay. So far I don't necessarily see this as a fault of the new switch set but I'm going to continue experimenting with it.

Got the switches, all working great. The company refunded me $25 for the passenger front switch (I verified it will not work since one of the two plug harnesses is not the same, so you keep the OEM passenger front switch which fortunately is AUTO already), so total cost is about $120. Normally it would bother my OCD that the OEM front passenger switch it not like the new aftermarket ones (AUTO on the OEM front passenger switch is not lit up in blue LED), but, having all switches as AUTO outweighs it.

Just a heads up. CThome has these switches on sale. The full set is $141 vs $165? Here's a funny quirk. Order the main switch $61, single switch with lock light $21 and (2) single switches $16 ea ($32) and that makes the full set with lock light for a total of $114! Free ship. Save $27 over the full set pkg and $51 over full set pkg normal price!

Finally had some warm weather here, so I decided to install mine (white led main switch aseembly only, bought at the beginning of the year) a few days ago, super easy install.

My driver side rear window seems to go down fine but has issues going back up (just doesn't seem to engage correctly to go up at all, have to try 10+ times and it'll randomly decide to go up). I'll have to try using the backdoor stock switch (have only tried used the new master switch) to see if it stopped working on the up direction as well. I did order from the linked cartrimhome site, not Amazon though.

Just installed mine and it was pretty easy after that video. Thanks in advance. I need to see it at night and see the blue lights how they blend in.

I just installed mine. Easy install, the hardest part was getting the connector off the old switch. Checked that all the windows worked but too bright to see any lights.

Just a safety warning for anyone considering installing the auto-up switches. I personally bought the auto-up and down switch for my driver's door for the convenience and lighted switches. After installing I realized that the auto up does not have the built in safety feature that the Tundra with the auto-up has. Normally if something was to get caught in the window on the way up, the window will automatically reverse direction. With the aftermarket switch installed the auto up will keep going with a good amount of force. This can be very dangerous for children or pets if you accidentally auto up and they have their head out the window.

The only reason I did not buy them, my girls (dogs) always have their head out and step on the buttons on the occasion when the lock is left off

Yeah I don't think some are not thinking about the risk of using this aftermarket switch. It's easily activated accidentally and could strangle a child or pet.

We should probably make a sticky on the risk of using this switch.

That is a very good point. In my case, I had no concerns over this since it is just my wife and I (I am the only one who drives the Tundra), no dogs or kids to worry about. I personally find the "auto-up" very handy when starting on a clover leaf getting on the freeway, no need to trap my left hand on the switch while turning with only my right hand.

I had mentioned earlier that my driver side window would hesitate at times during the "auto-up" and had to be re-started to complete the travel. This has gone away and it works flawlessly now.

So you have a switch assembly that auto reverses when there is an obstruction? Can you post a short video and where did you buy the switch assembly from.

No, what I think he means is that it has a "passenger lock" button like any electric window switch since 1988 has had. Push the button to activate "the lock" and passengers can not control their windows via their own switch. Only the driver switch has control.

I use it to hot box the fam with a gut grenade on long trips. Good times.

I see that now but it can easily be activated from the driver's switches and auto-up. I was hoping he had found a switch assembly that would auto reverse.

Well my original auto switches from cartrimhome lasted almost 2 years before it seems the window lock switch quit and only allowed driver window usage. I emailed them for support and they sent new switches usps 2 day under warranty. Just installed today and back in business. Great customer service!

I dont think I am following. The driver can set windows down or up at any level, then "child lock" all of the passengers so the windows dont move unless I, the driver, moves them.

The window will automatically go all the way to the top from the driver's switch and can trap anyone in its path. You can lock out the passenger and rear windows from the driver's switch but if someone fails to do this the window can auto up if you have replaced all the switches. Toyota has designed the auto up to reverse as soon as there is any resistance on the window, the proper way and will prevent injury or death to children or pets.
