The install took less than 10 minutes and the switches work fine. They even included a plastic pry tool for you to use to remove the OEM switches.

Are the switches intended to replace the factory one touch switches because these are better somehow? Or, are these merely for the trucks that didn't come with them?

These switches are all auto up / auto down plus all 4 switches are illuminated. I think on all of the 2.5 generation Tundras they have a max of 2 auto up/down switches and the front are the only ones illuminated.

Mr. T save 13 cents on not installing the auto up/down on 4 switches and then another 6 cents on not illuminating the back 2 switches. This combined with the non-illuminated power mirror switched save the corporation tens of hundreds of dollars ;-)

I recently got another Tundra (2020) and began doing some updates and included this. I have had them so far for over a month and all works like it said with no problems or fitment.

    My build- https://www.tundras.com/threads/rabbidllamas-old-man-build.80802/
Got my installed. Took about a week to get them delivered so very happy with that. Struggled a little bit with getting some of the clips to release in places. But I was being very careful as I have a habit of breaking plastic clips…no instructions so watched youtube videos. All 4 windows auto down and auto up.

I ended up getting these through Amazon (had credit so figured why not). They work great so far, but the rear switches had issues clicking into place. Had to trim the switch trim a bit to make them fit which sucked. Didn't realize how experience those trim pieces were until I had already trimmed them. Oh well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Z6BZX74?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

This was a great troubleshooting write-up. I just read the whole thread, and was thinking along the same lines when I saw this post. Now my concern is, did they address the overheating issue, or change the plastic to something more heat durable. The other concern is motor overrun and premature window motor failure if power is still applied for 4-6 seconds after full resistance.

My drivers side crapped out after about 6 months. I emailed cartrimhome customer service and they were great. Had the replacement in about a week at no charge.

I filed my PayPal Resolution Center case today. KTJO didn't respond to my emails, at first requesting an exchange for the part being defective, now I'll just take my $50 back thanks. They can have the part back.

I know I've got the harness hooked up correctly, as unplugging their controller from their harness disables the window rolling up/down at all. Plugging it in, it resumes working to roll up/down but there's nothing automatic about it. Shame.

At this point I just don't care enough to keep tinkering with it or the Autoloc and will likely just shrug it all off and just run my switch extension to center console soon.

I'm kinda new to posting and upgrading my Tundra, but I have a question about the auto up/down master switches. I've heard that sometimes the auto window switches have to be programmed to "know" when the window is all the way up and all the way down so as not to burn the window motor up. Is that an issue with these switches?

UPDATE 6/23: I got a set of these and they are awesome. Time will tell how long they will last, but they have all of the features that should have come in it to begin with.

Looks like my switch console is defective after 10 months. The lock window button is no longer working properly, stays red regardless of position preventing other windows from operating. Had to jiggle and press laterally to get it to change color and finish rolling up a passenger window. I emailed Car Trim to see what they will do, but i am going to put my oem control in the glove box now as it would suck having a window stuck down while out and about.

UPDATE 3/17: Received a replacement in the mail today, no questions asked. I didnt get a reply to my email to support, just a package in the mail today. Kudos for rapid replacement. Hopefully newer version has bug fixed.

The driver side switch I bought in April 2022, used for 11 months, the window locks are showing red, contacted cartrimhome, they sent me a new switch very quickly.
I have been using it for almost a year and still get new switches, and it doesn't cost extra, nice.
I also bought other switches along with it and it looks fine.
Anyway, cartrimhome's service is amazing.I would recommend it.

Sounds like you may have found your new pain in the ass you have to babysit. I was so close to buying this but not worth it if you have to carry spares with you in case your windows get stuck open. I would like to have one that has gone bad so I can tear it apart and see what fails.

So I am now having issues with the driver side front passenger switch. I guess I will try and contact the maker if I still have the receipt. I feel this was a waste of money the short time I have had this and wished I didn't jump on it so fast. I just put them in at like the end of Jan or beginning of Feb.

Does anyone still have one of the failed units? I'd like to dismantle one and find the point of failure.

If mine kicks the bucket, I'll take it apart and look for weak solder points, scorch marks or puffy resistors or such. But it's in been for a good 2 months now, so far so good, knock on wood.

Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved with Cartihome? I’d imagine they would fix the issue with so many returns and sending out new units. I also wonder if they haven’t, is there a way to find a fix preemptively to address the overheating before it happens. Definitely something that I’ve been waiting to do.
