Super easy to install. You have a video on YouTube, written instructions and JT's cell phone to help you. It took me longer to decide where to zip tie the clean up than it did to install.

Is there a subscription required for the car link phone module?

I am using the Start X (Fortin Evo One) with Carlink. 100% plug and play, no splicing.
    2019 TRD Pro.

6 months of starting 5 days a week, twice a day. 0 problems.

What was the install like? Looks like one plug from what I can tell by searching. Does it go into the open black port on the Start X?

If you're talking about the car link, yeah. One plug then some programing on the Fortin with the valet button.

Do you have any issues with it making a cellular connection? I have little to no connection on it.

Make sure to install towards the upper end of the dash. I’d take a pic but I’m not tearing it open right now. There is a main support that runs left to right I stuck mine on top of that. You’ll see foam there as well.

The support I’m talking about is on the upper left side above the fuse box.

No. None. It works on AT&T. You need to note two things. 1. mount it high up in the dash, with no metal blocking it. 2. it needs a certain side facing up. I can't remember which one but it's in the manual.

My remote unlocks driver door first then the rest of the doors with another push of the remote. I've read that after installing this that it changes it to opening all doors on first button push. Is this true for the rest of you? If so, is there anything that can be done to get it back to driver door only on first button push?

Not true for me with OEM fob. However, when I use Carlink (cellular) to unlock it sends two pulses. You can alter this within the Fortin firmware but it requires purchasing a Fortin FlashLink

My unlocks only one door, but I am usually a solo rider, so needing all doors unlocked in unnecessary. But, it is my understanding that this can be changed via your radio system. I believe the instructions are in your owner's manual or ask your local dealer during your next service.

    Good luck

Can someone provide a link to the install video you found to be the most helpful for a 2018?

Thanks. This video does not show removing the airbag support like I saw in another video. So, does it need to be removed or not? Anyone know?

I think you're right. I did it by feel. It's not held in by screws. Just tabs.

I installed it yesterday using the video you suggested and it all went fine. I did not have to remove the airbag support bar as some had instructed. I was able to pop the OBD connector out easily like you described. Also, just to clarify the door unlock confusion. When the truck is started remotely, one push of the unlock button will unlock all four doors. After that initial unlocking though the door locks behave as normal with the driver door unlocking with first push of the button and the rest of the doors with a second button push.

If I have the key turned to acc for the radio and use the key fob separately to remote start/charge will it kill the radio after 15 min auto shutoff? I listen to my radio often all day by the lake and cranking to charge would be one of my main reason for purchasing this remote start. Thanks

    What about a Bluetooth speaker?

Leaving the key in acc all day means having a fuel pump that is holding a prime all day and a lot of drain/charge on the battery.

Also I just tired this as I saw this post as I just got home..

No it wouldn’t start because the doors needed to be locked for security check and they would lock, then immediately unlock because the key was in the ignition, and the starter would not continue the actual starting sequence.

Damn i was hoping it would still start it. I use the truck radio because any Bluetooth speaker I have dies too quickly and also isn’t loud enough to hear across the water clearly. Are you sure the fuel pump stays primed in (acc) position and doesn’t wait until the key is turned to the (on) position? If so this is big news to me. I thought the acc was just for the radio and power outlets. The windows don’t work in (acc) which is why I would find it strange if the fuel pump had continuous power to it. Or are you saying the fuel pump back flow doesn’t release? I am no mechanic nor am I educated on anything past basic knowledge. Plus I moved from a ‘94 f150 to this ‘17 tundra so I’m not entirely sure how the fuel pump works on newer vehicles. Thanks for your reply
