The 24 Land Cruiser is a cool looking rig but, too bad it doesn’t have removable top options like the Bronco.

And now that's happened, so let's get on with the MY24 press release.

That's exactly why I want to see the press release.

    Cut a deal on a '23 now, or wait for a '24?

the LC looks be exactly what i am looking for, no 3rd row and no stupid rear storage area like the sequoia.

now to just wait and see what the 6th gen 4runner comes out with. if its the same, the nod will go to the LC with the better FT4WD system as standard.

Word on the street is that the MY24 will start being built this month. Does that mean we should expect them at dealers in October?

usually usa production starts in aug/sept for delivery to dealers as early as october

japan production is usually the same time frame but about 2-3 months shipping time from japan and regional port processing.

our tundra was built in 8-dec-22 and final out the door drive off was 22-feb-23 with a huge qa hold starting in 15/16-dec-2022 that was held until 15-feb-23. (original build date was set for 24-nov-22 and was pushed to 7-dec-22 then finally to 8-dec-22)

my japan 4runner was built in oct-2013 but after shipping and regional port processing and delivery to dealer, i didnt pick up until dec-2013.

I’m super interested to see what they do with the new 4Runner…. My guess is EV and PHEV and smaller than current. The toyota line up moving forward is a little strange…
    Tundra
    Grand highlander
    Seqouia
    Landcruiser
    Tacoma
    4Runner- tbd??
    Highlander
    RAV4

so much overlap and similar sized rigs. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the seqouia go away and the grand highlander get an off-road package and bigger engine? Or a grand 4Runner that takes it place

    Nitrogen filled tires!
MY24 will come with solid 20inch pizza cutters, leather seats that don't squeak (fart repellant fabric), gas tank mounted in reverse so it only shows empty, and the head unit now accepts cash or credit. And, Model 1794 has been replaced with 1492 because Columbus sailed the ocean blue.

but the big issues is the pricing. the bare bone LC 1958 starts at 55k, the current 4R limited is 52k, they are going to run over each other in pricing and features. if the difference in pricing is less than 5k, the LC will be the better winner just by the features of the standard FT4WD of the new LC compared to my limited FT4WD with only a center lock torsen diff.

Funny that they won't post the 24 right away due to inventory levels when Canada as a country has 0 inventory.

That's what I am hearing from a friend at Toyota. USA Land Cruiser is more of a replacement for the 4Runner and the new 4Runner will lean towards the Bronco with a removable roof.

Land Cruiser is it's own thing, and now looks like an updated FJ Cruiser. I was butt hurt when they stopped production of the FJ Cruiser, and got all excited at the Land Cruiser reveal. That's next on the acquisition list, pending a lottery win or similar windfall.

Everything I have been told is the new 4Runner will be closer to the FJ Cruiser than the Land Cruiser.

Is there any benefit to purchasing a pro through Costco auto?

Most dealers in my area won’t honor Costco auto for TRD pros

I wonder if Toyota will keep doing tiny changes every year like they did the 2.5 Gen 2014-2021’s? I remember one year I think it was either 15 or 16 an OEM brake controller was added. Then next year was bigger tank option then one year was keyless entry and then push button start

thats the norm for toyota, what really sucks is when a new gen comes out they reset the QOL items and then add them back in. saw this happen on my 5th gen 4runner compared to my 4th gen.

they do this across all models. its to show slight improvements/updates so each year is slightly different and to get people to upgrade for the slight QOL improvements.
