Any Anime Fans?

I am curious are there any Anime fans out there on the forum? If so, what are you guys watching these days?

 

Watched one piece and naruto as a kid. Also, big AoT fan. Watched both seasons and am always up to date w/ the manga

 

Naruto is one of my absolute favorites. Watched all 500 episodes and the movies. I am also a huge fan of AoT, as well as some of the other darker series like Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and PsychoPass.

I'm calling my truck build the "Thousand Sunny" build ;-) if you catch the reference

 

Had to google it lol, fell of Naruto and O.P. years ago

I heard FMA is great. Is it comparable to AoT?

 

Also finished Death Note last year

 

It is dark like AoT, but plots are vastly different. I prefer FMAB to AoT. I would stay away from FMA and just watch FMA brotherhood.

Gonna revive this one with a question. Found this GIF at random and I'm curious if anyone can point me in the right direction for what anime it is from? I love the dramatic shift in lighting to emphasize the intensity and horror of it. No clue where it's from or the context.

It’s from the Monogatari series. Specifically Kizumonogatari. Has a good amount of seasons, you can watch it in release date order or novel order. Also some people don’t like it cause it’s very dialogue heavy and it’s only subbed.

 

Thank you! I asked a buddy at work as well, and that's what he found. For whatever reason, my Google image search just brought up anime in general, and his brought up the show with several pictures of that character.

That's another one I hadn't heard of, but the previously mentioned work buddy recommended. He said its got the best sound design he's ever seen in an anime. He is way more of an aficionado than me.

 

Deathnote (series only, recommend as a first- considered top by many)
Attack on Titan (def a lil weird but awesome)
My Hero Academia (Best current anime- awesome after 1st season)
Dr. Stone (cool how science is infused)
Initial D (for all car ppl, big drift- don’t watch the movies- watch the series)
Fighting Spirit (Hajime No Ippo)- boxing, my personal favorite
Detective Conan (I am sucker for detective stuff)

FYI- anime is just Japanese animation for teens/adults. So you never watched Rick and Morty? No South Park, no Family Guy- all same idea. Those are not cartoons but animated tv not for kids. Hell, Red Hood Batman is one of my favorite Batman flicks.

With the huge opening of Spiderman this weekend- comic books are not just for kids. Same as animation is not just for kids. Anime has different versions. Doesn’t all involve x-rated stuff. The horror genre is really awesome.

 

Wangan Midnight is my favorite, followed closely by Initial D of course.

I watched the first Full Metal Alchemist and found it to be quite superior to the latter Brotherhood. I was watching fan dubs via bit torrent in 2002-04. Most people who say brotherhood is better simply watched FMA-B first, and that's my general suspicion from people who say that. Enjoyed the original FMA so much that I by and large don't watch much anime any more as so few Anime's match up to the quality of the first Full Metal Alchemist series.
