Hi, thank you for taking the time to answer the questions on this thread. My question is why does Headlight Revolution use a UT382 lux meter? It over-reports lux from LED light sources by up to 40%, and under-reports halogen sources by up to 4%. I found this diagram online from someone else and I wanted to check in with you first before making any conclusions. I am interested in many HR offerings but I was hoping you could shed some light on this. I see that you have a 20% sale this weekend and I have been eyeing the Knight Rider hood light bar!

    Thank you :).

Mark, the reason we use that meter (and have for many years) is because it's an easy to use, easy to read, highly rated and reliable meter. If it measures different light sources unfairly we will definitely need to look into that after our studio opens up again after all of this Coronavirus interruptions. We have never skewed results intentionally but will have to examine our process by testing with different meters to discover if what you're reporting is true. Let me point out though, that brightness over halogen is only 1 of 3 regular tests we do. Brightness between different LED bulbs still remains unphased, and the importance of a great beam pattern remains the same. Most of the time people want us to test different LED bulbs against each other to see which is the brightest - and those results remain accurate, at least from a relative percentage-change standpoint. In our quest to test and educate people on automotive lighting we will investigate for ourselves what you're showing us and make changes to testing methods accordingly

You shouldn't have any issues at all, no! If for some reason you do go through a fuse or two, then you may want to separate them and run separate Relays.

    Hey,

Ive got a 2006 tundra, recently replace my headlights and fog lights with LED lights, found out when I installed them I need to put resistors in because my headlights wouldn't come on but fog lights would. So I got resistors for the head lights, however now when I turn on my fogs the high beams on my headlights activate, does that mean I will need to get a resistor kit for my fogs as well? I can run my headlights by themselves but as soon as I turn on my fogs the high beams come on.

Hi @Headlight Revolution - I'm not sure what I did wrong but I'll explain what I did and I hope you can help.

    2016 CM Tundra SR5
I purchased the OEM 2019 Black Style Led headlights with all the bells and whistles from you:
2014 - 2018 Toyota Tundra OEM Bi-LED Headlight Housing - Pair(Color: Black Style / 2019, Add Plug and Play Install Harnesses: Include Conversion Harness AND DRL Harness, Add LED Turn Signal Bulb Kit: Yes [+$78.00], Add LED Side Marker Bulbs: Yes [+$29])

I installed the LED marker bulb and the LED turn signal bulb in the new housing hooked the plug and play harness in and the conversion harness by watch the two you tube videos (one posted above and the 2014-2017 Toyota Tundra Front Turn Signals - Tundra Video Series | Headlight Revolution that Chris does for the resistors)

I have a three wire turn signal configuration. pink, black & white, purple. I depinned the black & white and the purple and switched them. Then I installed the resistor using the T taps on the black and pink wires. Somewhere along the way I blew the turn signal fuse and replaced it. After I put everything back together, all of the lights work except the turn signals. The hazards flash. The turn signal does not flash. I noticed my battery gauge is lower than normal (around 12). I don't even hear a clicking when I turn the turn signal on. Any idea where I went wrong? I'm guessing I need to check the turn signal relay? I'm not very good with this stuff at all. I've heard some guys say that the purple wire shouldn't be reinserted and to take it out, but I wanted to check with you first because that's not what the video says. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have an LED question. I have a 2020 Tundra TRD Sport with the LED headlights. Is the turn signal LED also? I would go look, but the truck is at the shop for the night.

Earlier as I was walking past the front of the vehicle, busy doing something else, I noticed what I thought was a halogen bulb. I made a mental not to swap it out. Now I'm looking online and it seems most places are claiming that it's not serviceable because it's LED.

Is it LED? Can I swap it out? It seems pretty dim as is. Any help is appreciated, or I can just go investigate tomorrow night when I have the truck back.

Not sure if this helps but the headlights I bought were OEM 19 style black. The headlight and drl are LED but the marker and turn signal bulb were incandescent. You can change the incandescent marker by replacing the bulb. The turn signal requires a resistor to be installed to avoid hyperflash when you put an led bulb in it. Also you have to repin the connector. (Super easy though) I’m sure @Headlight Revolution can confirm.

    Is the bulb type a 7443 or a 3157CK?

My understanding was that 7443 are not polarity specific so you should be able to just plug them in? I'm finding conflicting information online.

The OEM bulb in there is indeed a 7440/7443 style bulb in there! It's definitely not LED and can be replaced with any 7443 style bulb! :)

We do have LED Kits available for the Swap found here: https://headlightrevolution.com/2014-2017-toyota-tundra-led-front-blinkers-kit/

But if you prefer just to keep them as the stock bulbs, you can always find replacements at any auto parts store!

Hey there at HR. You guys are very solid on your information, videos, etc. I am planning a Morimoto headlight replacement on my 2008 Tundra, as well as LED bulb replacement on the tail lights. Wish Morimoto made a tail light unit like they do the complete headlight for my truck. Do you have any sales coming up. I love my Tundra, want to light it up, but have a limited paycheck. An upcoming sale would really help me pull the trigger. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hey Man!

Ah, you just missed it! We were just running a 20% off Store-Wide sale that ended this past Friday, I apologize about that! I'm not sure when the next sale will launch either, I imagine it'll be a little bit until we really have anything Official.

PM me here if you have any Qs at all and I'd be happy to help!

I am not electrically inclined so I am looking for led turns, front and rear, that do not require resistors and are of high quality. Am I just out of luck? Do I have any options? Btw, I have a stock '19 CM Limited 4x4. Thanks in advance!

I just upgraded from a 2004 Tundra to a 2016 Tundra and I want to change the headlight assembly to some with LED DRL's and also the bulbs to LED's. When I had my 04 I swapped out the halogen bulbs to LED's then had to get a relay to stop the flickering. For this 2016 what all additional stuff will I need to get (relays, harness, etc.) to make sure I dont have any flickering problems or any other problems?
