somewhere like 375 ish i think, I was fine with that to not have to be irritated with this for months on end or get stuck with only one key or whatever

Thanks. I think that’s kind of the going rate for a FOB.

    Completely agree.
As far as other manufacturers adding content back in after the fact, no thanks. My F150 had the dash panels pulled in and out so many times some of the tabs had broken and they didn't fit right. A key fob is easy by comparison.

I’m not buying another fob, but I did buy an AirTag.

November 22nd. However I asked for the dealership to give me written paperwork saying they owed me a key when I purchased the truck.

When the dealership ordered the key fob for me they said the only reason they were doing it was because I had the "we owe you" paperwork. I never received any information from Toyota corporate. It was my local dealer that took care of me.

Just talked to our dealership and he said he was told we should get our 2nd key fob in the 4th quarter of this year. We bought ours March 31, 2023.

LOL... so now we're into 4Q 2023? I am guessing summer 2024. Maybe.

Purchased 1 31 23. still waiting for second key fob.
No one at dealership helping at all.
It is funny that we did not know until after we signed all paperwork that we only got 1 key. You have to know to ask?
Is there any workaround for this?
They gladly say that we can purchase one

Has anyone called Toyota hotline because their one FOB broke, got lost or otherwise stopped working and you needed them to get the truck going again? I'm wondering how their response was and how it turned out?

I've had my truck for a couple of weeks. When I asked about the 2nd key fob they told me "Sometime this summer."

I think a lot of people have missed this post. The video discusses the timeline and the attached pdf lines it out clear as day.

I reattached the pdf as the forum didn't automatically do it.

Great info, my production date of Dec. 2022 corresponds to yellow which results in a scheduled issue date of Aug. 2023.

I’m curious is Toyota providing any payment etc. for this inconvenience? I have friends that have purchased vehicles from the big three with missing content and they received gift cards for the inconvenience. I know that doesn’t help with a lack of a second key but it’s better than nothing.

We have not seen any payment or gifts from this large inconvenience. To us - it is scary to have only one key. Something were to happen to it.
We were or are going to be going on vacation - I am scared to death to leave a key with the valet parking in which we are required to do at one hotel.
I am not sure how we are going to do this or if we are going at all due to this one key issue.
    It is beyond my comfortableness.
What bothers me even more is the lack of helpfulness from the dealership where we purchased this large ticket item. So much money for this vehicle.
I truly do not understand it and . ... .strongly believe this has affected my future purchases with Toyota and this named brand dealership in our area/
    Total dumbfounded.

No they won't send you a gift card but they do want you to subscribe to services they provide initially as free - then come back and want you to buck up to keep the said services. I can look up my VIN recall notices, and I can keep track of servicing it (5k NOT 10K) and I don't give a rats ass about WiFi. Android Auto works fine and it is free - gets me weather, music, traffic, free satellite radio and does not try to up-sell me. One day my FOB will show up - then I will have to make an appointment at the dealer (several weeks out) and wait 2 hours for a 30 minute job, and that is if all goes smoothly. All said I love my truck. BTW - if I purchased a FOB for the STEALER I'd expect them to reimburse me the cost - how the hell can you not get one with your initial vehicle purchase and be able to purchase one from the dealer. That smells!

For a modern vehicle, those fobs are really reasonably priced. Assuming you can get a deal on the programming.

Thank you @ryanwgregg How does this fob differ from the 2nd fobs that are outstanding from Toyota for the Tundra?

Screenshot_20230619_195859_Samsung Notes.jpg To me I think it's better than having a vehicle that is not fully functional. I found out on other big 3 forums that modules needed required some major disassembly and days without the vehicle. Just think, our trucks are fully functioning. No way I would by from the big three! Look at this window sticker, look at all the options removed and some are crying over a 2nd key fob has me scratching my head.

So Toyota has enough key fobs to sell, but not enough to furnish new builds. I guess we at least have an option if we lose our one key.
