Now I just need to find an inexpensive aftermarket emergency that fits in the Toyota remote so I can get it cut for when my 2nd fob from Toyota arrives (I put the 2nd emergency key in the one I bought and programmed).

BTW, interesting to compare this to Ford that takes and letter from the CEO to get a part overnighted. The Toyota parts desk just did it as a normal practice on a key. Night and day.

Why Toyota mats don’t cover the dead pedal is just dumb.

I bought a couple of Ford keys for my daughter’s escape online. Took them to the dealer who did the laser cuts free and told me “all this key will do is open the door.” I said thank you and then used my original keys to self program the new ones. Voila - she now has 4 working keys for about $50. Much cheaper than the extra Tundra key that cost $200 programmed by my Toyota dealer.

$317 including cutting is pretty expensive and $90 to add programming, bjt getting everything in one transaction is convenient.

I paid $119 for a FOB from Toyota. Haven't bought a blank yet but many aftermarket emergencys are $10 shipped.

I had a locksmith and Toyota quote me between $100-$140 to program. My locksmith does key cutting for these keys for $30.

Sweet have my first oil change today and about the same time frame I got my truck. Went to open my app and it had logged me out for some reasons and logged back in and low and behold I have the notification that I can contact the dealer for my second key. Sweet! Feb 23 build Delivery March 23. Doubt they'll have it in stock but fingers crossed heading to the dealer in the next half hour for oil change.

Mentioned this earlier but yep just happen to check my app before my oil change appointment today and the notification was in there. Asked service advisor and was able to have a key programmed at the same time saving another trip. They even had a 6.5' bed mat that I've had on order and they have been on backorder for months. Someone returned the mat because the rubber had little colored speckles in it (likely due to it being recycled rubber and I bet nearly all of them are that way) and they sold it to me for $100.00 because it was slightly used. Man I'm glad I'm on this forum that seriously saved me some time driving back and forth to the dealer and saved an appointment too. Feb23 build With March 23 delivery and I saw the notification and think I lucked out and got my Key today too. Woo hoo one fuel line recall to go and I'll be a real boy!

    Mine showed up as well:

    Key Notification 10-14-23.png

Appointment for Tuesday as well! Originally scheduled for Monday but dealer called back and said they wouldn't have the key in stock until Tuesday. Hence, appt on Tuesday. Hope they keep their word.

My build date was 3-1-23, took delivery 3-29-23. Hope this helps sort out where Toyota is at in the distribution of these things.

Nice! Up to March ‘23 buyers now. I’m impressed they are still only delivering ‘24s with one key until they are square with those that have been waiting so long.

Same. Picked ours up Friday and it had one key. They didn’t show an ETA but I’m sure it’ll be early ‘24……ish.

"One key" no more!!! I am happy.

It took 2 hours for the dealer to program.

Good luck to you all that are still waiting!

It added about 1.5 hours to my oil change appointment is bascailly what hte service advisor told me it would add. I ended up being at the dealer a little longer than 2 hours, but I also had oil change and tire rotation. Hopefully you're one of their first appointments and they'll hop on it right away.

I was thinking of getting an oil change (I do my own) just because its there but I can't get myself to do it. I really dont trust them!

Program my key and go. I will say the service area at this particular dealership is nice.
They have a walk up bar (think everything is free (coffee, water etc)), they have a person doing manicures there too at certain times.
(never had a manicure in my life)
