Any 2023 owners received their second key fob?

    yeah the ext warranty fiasco i can understand if you are a lazy salesperson and someone is selling an ext warr for 1/2 of your gouging price. gotta whine to toyota usa so someone that has gumption to get more sales.

    i can see the other way on the tis/tsb info. posting that info means you get less subs, but then again enough people sub to to it to not put a dent in subs. also if you get an official doc via 3rd party and something bad happens, it a PR nightmare potentially.

    We bought our 1794 Tundra in Feb. 2023 and are still waiting. There was no sticker anywhere on our truck that said there would only be one fob issued. We were told there would be two when we bought it. We have been waiting but what happens if the fob we have gets lost? We have always loved our Toyotas but are becoming angrier by the minute with the runaround from the dealer. We paid cash upfront for this truck and expected better from them and Toyota!

    Get to an agent. Explain calmly why you need the second fob. They may tell you when you should receive one based on their estimate. Explain that you'd like to know what other options are available to obtain one earlier. You will most likely be transferred to a supervisor. Explain your need and listen to what they have to offer. Worked for me.

    Yup, this saga is in reruns but we are about to get into season 2. New drama, where the promised deliveries don't happen.

    And back on topic... Aug 17 and I still don't have my August 2nd fob. Tick, tick, tick... Maybe that's why they made Ryan pull all that info. It could well turn out to be wrong.

    I did talk with Toyota 1st week August. Have an open case for the 2nd Key FOB. Confirmed I am to receive it this month. Still have two weeks........................................


    The next challenge: open a case over the Alignment issue. At this rate currently at 8500 miles and two Toyota alignments, the tires will be gone by early next year.

    Are you holding your breath? I didn't think so! BTW, what alignment issue? I haven't noticed any problems. Maybe I need to take a closer look at the tires... which I have already rotated once. I have 8600 miles.

    Received my 2023 Tundra end of January 2023, it wasn't until I took delivery at Beaver Toyota - Cumming, GA that I was advised that there was a backlog on key fobs. I have received several different dates and was finally shared a look at a Toyota published document that had an Original Publication Date: February 16, 2023, Updated on: April 21, 2023- Updated to include schedule of second key delivery, refer to page 2 for details. According to the document I was supposed to receive my second key fob this month but have heard nothing from the dealer, pinged them again today. Toyota and their dealers have handled this very poorly from a communication perspective and what is my compensation for this inconvenience - if both family members utilize the vehicle and you have to search out the other for the key fob each time you drive its an inconvenience (ask my wife as I go through her purse looking of the key fob). This is my 4th Toyota Vehicle I have owned and has impacted my decision on this brand moving forward - it's all about customer service and communication.

    I’ve had to go thru my wife’s purse as well looking for our one and only fob, so many dildos in her purse… Toyota has not spared me that indignity.

    Yea according to the chart that's floating around I should have mine this month it's now the 24th no letter no email no call, but hey got a notification that the wife's RAV4 Prime is more spicy then I thought it was( Recall for DC to DC converter fire)

    This is beyond reasonable at this point. Bought 2023 in December of 2022

    • Call brand engagement and complain about communication at dealer and manufacturer. Maybe it will get your 2nd key fob like it did for me.

    If everyone on here that’s complaining about not receiving 2nd key fob called or emailed it would get their attention and possibly get the ball rolling on delivering them to you

    What reasons did you cite as inconveniences which led to Toyota justifying the issuance of your second fob?

    No window sticker on truck stating one key fob only at dealer. Key fob sticker should have been removed by customer not dealer. Dealer told me that a chip shortage caused issue of only 1 key fob. No correspondence from manufacturer stating they owed me a second key fob furnished at time of sell or after purchase. No campaign in toyota service maintenance computer for my vin for 2nd key fob but offered to sell me one. I called or emailed Toyota brand engagement about lack of communication and nothing to reassure a long time customer on delivering a 2nd key fob.

    My truck had a tiny sticker on the drivers window stating only 1 Fob avail at this time and in Finance signing papers I had to sign a paper stating I was aware and that Toyota owed me a Fob. They had a 3 letter acronym. Something like TOU (Toyota Owes You)

    I got mine. Called Toyota. Explained I couldn’t wait. Got new one at dealer which I paid for. Toyota then reimbursed me.

    I called Toyota Brand engagement and she looked up my VIN and said I should be receiving my letter for the 2nd fob next week. We'll see.

    If @insidetoyota is a Mothership conduit maybe they can read the numerous posts associated with this thread and do somethings about it? If they have the authority to post Official Mothership "Remedy Available: Safety Recall 23TA03.....Tonneau Cover" maybe they can accelerate a faster solution to the nuisance they have created by not providing two FOB's but welcoming your $ to purchase one at your dealer? Just asking. Toyota = You listening?

    Got my second fob yesterday from my dealer. I service rep told me he was putting in a request for my second fob when I had scheduled a visit for the temp fix on the gas line/brake line recall. I have a 2023 model and took my truck in yesterday and they programmed the new fob and I skipped the temp fix. Not gonna be putting many miles on my truck for a while......going on a trip and don't need truck. I would check with my dealer if I was "you."

    Do not expect or plan on a letter or Toyota contacting you. I just got my second fob today. Here is how it went down. Someone else mentioned the app, so I checked last week before a scheduled service and sure enough in the notifications in the app was a message saying my second fob was ready. So I called my service department since it was going in anyway. They checked their system and sure enough I was eligible, and they ordered the fob. The service tech was not aware of how this was working, but the scheduler did as did the service manager. Took a few days for it come in and then get an appointment scheduled and I have my fob.

    The point is do not rely on Toyota contacting you, or a letter, check that app to see if you have a message. I have never received a letter!

    My notification came from the Toyota app. They contacted me with another recall issue, that didn’t affect me, tonneau cover. I mentioned the fob that appeared on my app and they set up an appointment for the programming. Like previously stated I wouldn’t wait for a letter just check your app.

    I got the notification on my app about my second key and called the dealer and they set an appointment for me to go in and get it programmed. Seems like they are starting to come in.

    I got my second key fob today! Also had the factory tonneau cover fixed with some sort of fix kit.
    The app says good to go on key fob so i called toyota and they called the dealer to line everything up. Got the key fob letter a day or two later. Call Toyota and demand the fob; they will take care of you.
