I hope we don't get more snow. I've had enough of this March

As long as we get cold nights it'll help the season. Snow does help insulate the trees and ground and keeps stored sap cold....so yeah I guess it does. It just sucks hauling sap in the deep snow. We carry a 5 gallon pale in each hand tree to tree then to the truck when they are full. Having to also lift them above the snow as you walk blows. Today I actually went through and shortened the handles on a few buckets, this helped til my shitty craftsmanship showed through and a handle fell off haha. Next year I'll shorten a bunch of them and do it better to avoid this.

I thiught so too til one handle gave way. I just did a crappy rush job. Next year I'll do it right. I also got some hand grips, to replace the skinny little white plastic grip that come on the buckets. They make a huge different carrying them around as far as weight distribution and hand pain. You'd be amazed the difference

Thanks Sean, we just finished up last summers onions and potatoes. Yeah, I could buy em cheaper, but as you know there is something about planting growing and harvesting your own. Things look a little better on the dinner plate.

Absolutely. I'm not all into local or organic food. But I'm really into raising, growing and making your own food. Very rewarding. You store everything in a sandbox in the basement? Thats what we did as kids with potatoes and onions

I pull my onions when they are tennis ball size and I air dry them on an old navy oak ship mess table for about 4 weeks. Then store them in my basement in a cool dry dark room. Same with potatoes, I cover them with old burlap bags in boxes.

Still nothing. Radar shows it snowing but it's not, not even raining. We were supposed to have a few inches by now. Supposed to be done at midnight too, if we are gonna get that foot they called for, it's gonna have to start fast and hard very soon.
