Just bought a 2016 Tundra Texas Edition. I'm not a "lift" kinda guy, probably will leave the truck stock most of it's life.

    Robert Hilliard, Lindale, Texas.

Thanks in advance for having me...

Slick looking truck. I always figured Texas would be crawling with tundras because of the San Antonio plant. What amenities do you get with the "Texas Edition"?

We all say we'll leave it stock until you start seeing some BA mods.

I said the same about lifting. Never lifted a truck in my life and I am 43. Got my 15 TSS and the Toyota dealer did a 3/1 or 3/2 level kit on it. Best thing ever. Gives it a very strong stance and the stock wheels and tires look great on it. Yours looks great, just saying..... Got a dentist buddy that has driven trucks his whole life and he did the same for the first time on his Texas Edition.

I don't mean to answer for SkySilverBullet, but the TX Edition is an SR5 with a few upgrades. You get 20" TX Edition chrome wheels, TX Edition badges, and floor mats with the TX Edition emblem. We Texans love our Texas...and our trucks!

Well Wilbur..... TXTundra did an excellent job explaining the amenities for a Texas Edition. Thanks! However, he didn't explain the testosterone that pumps through your body while driving it!!! LOL.

    Welcome from CO.
Very nice Texas Edition. Please don't de-badge your Texas Edition. (not that you would). Leave it be. Very cool as is. De-badging isn't always cool. For me, never cool. Fad only. IMHO. (You live long enough, you realize what really makes a difference in the long run.) Badges or no badges, Testosterone/throttle always wins out. (Dang, I just saw a de-badged Ford Focus, not as good as the SVT (???) Focus. The SVT Focus would have been better de-badged as well too, I guess.) Old school becomes new school if you wait long enough........... where is my "pet rock"??? (It's found in the History section next to "de-badging fad")

Thanks for the welcome guys. And, I see that this forum is really no different than any other than I'm a member of. I'm waiting for the day when Toyota makes a Tundra South Carolina Edition and Tennessee Edition. :duel:

Lots of good info here. We have a little fun here. It's not all serious. I suppose in theory Toyota could do special unique badging and tire/wheel combos for all 57 states. (Our president said that , not me.)

Don't forget, Texas Edition also means it comes with running boards. I guess the chrome rims are a newer thing, my factory 'Texas Edition' rims aren't chrome.

I second this motion. I did the lift/big tires & exhaust on a previous truck and it eventually got to me. I had to get alignments every 5-10k miles and the MPG loss bothered me more than I thought it would. I'll be keeping mine stock probably till the wheels fall off.

Welcome from a fellow Texan! I noticed your chrome 20" Texas Edition wheels are the same 20" TSS Edition wheels I got on my Silver Sky DC '15 TSS Package. I think both editions/packages are part of the Gulf States Toyota "upgrades" to the SR5 with a combination of badges, stickers, floor mats and wheels.
