Looking for some input from ‘21 owners. My 2021 consistently gets 3-4 mpg less than my 2019 did. Took a ride recently that my ‘19 on the same drive would get about 19.5. The ‘21 got 15.3. I have no idea what accounts for this difference. It’s the same exact power train. Same exact tires when I made this drive. Cruise control set at 62 mph both times. What are you folks who have ‘21’s seeing for gas mileage? I’m not complaining, but I am curious.

I’ve got about 5500 miles on mine now. Most of my trips are back and forth to work, about 15 miles each way, so not a lot of sustained highway driving. I average around 15 mpg. Last week, I had occasion to make some longer trips and mpg for the day was almost 18.

Curiouser and curiouser. My truck has just over 3k on the clock and the best I’ve seen is 15.6. Oh well I didn’t buy the truck for gas mileage. It seems to run perfectly so I don’t think there’s a problem with the truck. I’m simply curious. I know the official mpg rating on the sticker went down by one mpg. I don’t know if they have it tuned any differently or not.

    Still breaking it in?

What trim was your 2019? Maybe the 21 features weigh more than we think they should?

OP, do you get winter blend gas down there? I get worse mpg’s in every vehicle I own with the winter blend in the northeast.

Both trucks are Pros. I guess maybe breaking in may have something to do with it. Time will tell.

I’m not sure if we get winter blend or not. Would that explain 4 mpg difference?

2 mpg’s probably not 4 but combine the 2 with “breaking in” and 4 would make sense.

I have noticed that it not so much winter blend but temps. My truck does worse when temps are low. In Texas we can be in teens and 20s one week and close to 70s the next. Also during break in your truck will get lower mpgs. I have heard up to 10k.

How many miles do you have on your 2021? May not be broken in enough yet.

    I have a '21 1794, that gets around 18.5mpg. I did have a '19 1794 that got close to 20 mpg that was a 2-wheel drive, mine is now a 4-wheel drive

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I’ll just keep driving the shit out of it and see if it gets any better with more miles. Doesn’t matter a lot, I love this truck! Just today when filling up a guy at the next pump (F150 driver) said “I’m a Ford guy but that’s a beautiful truck you’ve got there.” I wanted to return the compliment but all I could come up with was “Yours gets better gas mileage.”

What the screen reads. I plan to do a hand calculation the first long road trip I do.

The screen is a complete joke, don’t rely on that for any critical numbers.

Every time I hand calculated with the ‘19 the screen was within .5. Doesn’t mean this one is though, I do need to check.

Just went over 1k miles on my 2021 and I've been averaging 13.8-14. I live in MN though and the truck usually warms up up no less than 5 minutes before driving. I'm hoping in the summer months and after break in I'll see improvement

MPGs on all are bad when idling but V8s are worse.

That’s pretty close to what I’m seeing. Makes me feel a bit better knowing I’m not the only one.
