Wow!

This thread took me a full day to get through.
Lots of good info and very honest, useful feedback. I’m pulling the trigger on this thing next week. I have a 2017 Platinum with JBL, planned on upgrading sound system later this year, mostly for Apple CarPlay and a better interface than the abysmal entune system.
Better sound is a bonus but my ears won’t appreciate it, thanks to working around loud HVAC equipment and mechanical rooms. A front camera option is sweet too.
Looks like the mk3 Hu is the one to go for.

Any other feedback? Or suggestions? Dongles? Kits n bits needed?

 

Looks like the 2G 32gb ROM is the only one available on Trinity Audio...

 

Just ordered a PX6 unit from Phoenix.
ETD is approx 3 weeks.
It's shipping from China.

 

zero customer service from pheonix. days to respond to messenger,facebook etc.

 

Nice! PX6 one is a better chip than our PX3, I wonder if the big screen blocks vents in landscape mode. When they go >720p, I think I'll upgrade.

 

Use the Facebook page that was created by users for troubleshooting. I don't have the radio yet, but I am a member of the page already. Lots of information on there in regards to troubleshooting and setting up the system.

Did you paint yours? If not, who/where did you get the black surround (or it is just silver with weird lighting effect)?

Should have got one of these 4port USB a long time ago. Can now interchange multiple sticks easy.

Didn’t realize some people already got gen 3 Tesla units (thought it was the horizontal kind). PX6, 4GB RAM, Android 8.1, can download Netflix content. I wonder how snappy they are. $600, about 100 units available when they were offered for testing, seems to have some software bugs from my reading.

 

Is that offered by the same company?

 

I think Phoenix ya, contact Jodi on fb if interested. I'm technical but I'd be wary myself, my gen2 unit is locked in with no issues, everything works PERFECT like a stock machine. I didn't even update firmware which reset people's HVAC every time they started the vehicle (did not retain last setting), then weeks later someone figured out the fix buried in the Settings so fw rollback wasn't necessary. I recall when gen3 was first offered for testing, it wasn't fast boot either, might be wrong.

I'm personally waiting for a higher res, better IPS screen before switching out my gen2 HU.

 

Yes, I don't have any issues with mine either, but I also haven't done anything with mine aside from just listening to music through blue tooth.

 

everyday stuff I use it for, ideas:

-connect it to your home's wifi and download google maps you can use offline, one covering a large portion of your state
-use 4Kdownloader and download youtube vids or just the audio of long mixes onto USB sticks

-my kids watch movies and TV shows, play video games
-when I'm in my last week of phone data for the month and have lots, I use Spotify (the modded version that has no ads)

-I connected a $12 front cam and use it to park to see my bumper distance
-my main screen is CarWebGuru which shows my true speedo, larger tires make my factory dash speedo off

-and phone calls of course run through it

Gen2 w/buttons 2019 Tundra SR5 CM

Got mine installed today and have been playing with it for a few.

I know I read about these in this thread but I can't find the answers to..please

1. Need to turn the amp on and raise current volume. But I can't change anything in this screen. Nothing will change.

2. If I can get into it, the proper setting for the amp is AMP Power and not the other amp on/off setting? Am I correct?

3. Every time I start my truck, the A/C fan resets to off after the quickboot.

4. Fader doesn't work. I assume this is related to getting the amp powered up.

This would make it really awesome if I could get a little help.

Some adjustments I had to make.

1. Change L/100 to MPG for MPG gauges and fuel data to show correctly.
2. Had to set time zone in Android Settings

Other than that just added my android account, downloaded a few apps. and changed some aesthetics.

 

Remember to make a video of all the stock settings so you don't paint yourself into a corner.

Hit tundra lo and change your car type from the American version to the Chinese version. Press ok, then save and reboot.”

Ordered a Gen 3 with PX6 and will be replacing the Dasaita with the Pheonix. Glad to see a faster processor. The Dasaita is nice and peppy with the PX6.

Ok now I'm getting confused. If you go to the tundra page on the pheonix website and click on 7.1 fastboot then there is a drop down for a px6 version with 8.0. I though this was the same as the px6 version further down the page but now I'm not sure. Did I buy the one without fastboot?

 

Ok I got ahold of pheonix. There are only two PX6 models. With AC buttons and Without. No fastboot yet.

 

What’s better, with or without temp controls? New one px6 7.1 fast boot is $1000 with code. Is that right?

 

Hold off on ordering. It's still very confusing. Trying to get some clarity. There is a drop down under the 7.1 fastboot to choose the px6 8.1 for $900 plus. When I called they said there were only two gen 3. With and without climate buttons and neither had fastboot. The Gen 3 at the bottom of the page with climate controls is on sale for 700. I dont think there is a difference.
