Android Headunit

what do you mean upgraded sr5 model? i have the sr5 with the entune plus unit so its not base model sr5 and my tach didnt work either.

 

Upgraded in that I have the center console and leather seats

 

I had the entune plus as well, but my tach works on my Tesla style radio.

 

I thought my 1794 was the higher model ?

 

Has anyone able to use Amazon music wit a external hard drive? I downloaded my whole song list for offline use and worked first day now there’s no offline music showing???

I just noticed on Facebook page that a 3rd gen Tundra Tesla unit will come with a video out port and will be out for production in about 4 weeks.

 

This Is why i sold the 1st one. Needed video out for the kids.

Yes, I have 2 headrest monitors, I play movies off of a hard drive and use DirecTV app, YouTube, etc. It didn't allow video to play on the video out to headrest TVs without using their separate DVD player. Defeated the purpose why I wanted it. My current eonon 10.1 shows everything that's on the headunit on the headrest tvs

 

that doesnt look like a bad head unit. are you satified with it? did it improve the sound of the stock speakers? i got one tesla unit so far and the digitizer was damaged so i just RMA'd it and am waiting for a 2nd one. if that one is not to my liking maybe ill look at this. i was looking for a full android operating system so i can use it just like a tablet and not be restricted as to what i can do on it.

 

@motocrossman99 it's not bad. The bluetooth works great. I play movies from a hard drive for my kids mostly. Radio reception is good. The back up camera doesn't seem as crisp as the stock headunit, but it's fine. I have the brightness to 100% on it, some really sunny days it's hard to see with the glare. Someone just posted a different 10.1 and the picture seems to be alot better than mine. I'm fine with it for now. Have had it for over a year now, does what I need, I got mine off of Amazon with coupon code for $230. So I can't complain.

What is the OBDII Adapter with the wire used for? It isn't needed for the speed or RPM display.

Also how do I know if I have a 1st Gen or a second Gen. I have a 7.1 Fastboot unit with A/C controls. Phoenix's website is no help either. I think it might be a first Gen with the upgraded 7.1 fastboot coreboard but not sure?

 

Probably 2nd because from my limited research 1st gen is running 4.4

 

1. Install ClassicBoy on HU from Playstore
2. Tekken3 ROM https://coolrom.com.au/dlpop.php?id=39719
3. Unzip, put Tekken3 folder on USB stick, plug into HU
4. Open file manager, locate file on USB, COPY file
5. In file manager again, go to main storage, PASTE into ClassicBoy/ROM folder
6. Go to ClassicBoy settings and map your controllers (I am using the same SNES controllers)
7. Initiate game by choosing Start Game which points to ROM folder, tap Tekken3 bin file

Thanks, it's a little crazy they can't list those on their website. I'm coming from a Universal android headunit which these tesla style units seem to lack a lot of features when compared to the universal units. It seems like they can't even connect 2 Bluetooth device at the same time, since I'm told to disconnect the current device.

 

While it’s still a nice jump above our ancient stock HU’s, they need to update these Tundra Tesla ones with a PX5 CPU, 4GB RAM, later OS, and IPS screen like the 2018 Android HU’s in cars.

Nice, yours is octo PX5 and IPS, can you still see it well with polarized sunglasses? I’d like that in the vertical integrated form factor that removes our HVAC controls, the version with even thinner bezels. I’ll buy it again then!

 

I'm very satisfied with just the sound improvement with the Phoenix HU over the stock unit for $550, I did add the sub and believe it was money well spent. Thinking about converting the 1st gen for the boys in the back seat but they seem very content with their Nintendo switches.

 

Which sub do you have again? Amp too?

 

So I've heard that android 4.4 has some security issues? Anyone running the Phoenix kit on a 2nd gen (2007-2013) tundra have feedback?

Tec 12 also has replacement speakers and an amp for a good price if you want to step it up further. Ask @Pudge about system and or upcoming group buys.

 

Edit: I just noticed you have a 2016 Platinum which has a JBL amp and factory sub, so I’m assuming you didnt didn’t “buy” a new amp and just switched out the subs?

In my nonJBL which has no existing sub, I guess I need an amp between the Android HU’s sub RCA’s and this sub to work?

Got mine up and running. Both controllers mapped, but can't get the 2nd one to work in any games, keeps acting like player 1

 

Are both controllers turned on in the ClassicBoy settings?



And have you defined them in Multiplayer?



Also re-check mapping, unbind and re-bind if necessary.
