I wanted to see if anyone had any answers to this as I am trying to find a replacement screen/digitizer for the 2nd Gen w/ buttons 12.1" screen. Does anyone know where I can get this replacement screen?

Thanks for the link and reply. I already have the unit taken apart, I just need to know where to get a replacement screen. Unless I read your link incorrectly, it just provides general instructions on taking an LCD/LED apart.

I did find a part number for what appears to be the display but all results lead to chinese links. I'm worried there isn't any locally or US sourced place where I can obtain just the screen. I already returned the unit once to Phoenix for repair. I didn't learn the first time and I've come to the conclusion that it's the yellow clips that are placed onto the top of the unit that are creating too much pressure when installing that causes the cracks.

How long did it take yours to crack? You did the mod at the bottom of the dash(removing material in the center) to help with this known issue?

The first time it occurred, it was after a little while this past January. That one was different as I noticed it started as a small crack at the top middle of the screen, about where the power icon is located on the default theme. The crack didn't really develop until I decided to mess with the unit and wanted to place the yellow tabs on the unit, thinking it would secure it in place. So, I didn't think that the tabs caused the issue as there was a small crack previously. This last time it occurred my radio antenna fell out at some point and again I wanted to place the yellow tabs to secure it after I put the antenna cable back in. Immediately, the crack developed when I applied pressure to the top corners of the unit and the crack developed at the same spot. So, this led me into thinking it was the amount of pressure that I applied caused by the tabs that created the cracks.

I was unaware of any mod at the bottom of the dash or removal of material to mitigate this issue. I must've missed that either on here or in Facebook.

Yes, there are several discussions about removing material from your dash because of this exact issue.

Ah, I think I know what you are talking about. I had thought they resolved that by notching the unit's frame as I confirmed it looked to have been manually shaved when I inspected it upon receiving it. I guess it's not enough of a notch to correct exactly what I went through. Either case, it's a moot point until I can find a replacement screen.

They did notch it, but evidently(according to the install video that I used.) You still had to trim some off the dash. Hopefully you get this resolved without too much hassle

Yeah, that's what I get for not doing my due diligence and taking them at their word. Well, I'm going to try to take it to a cell phone and tablet repair shop and see if they can provide some kind of generic glass for this; fingers crossed. Thanks for your input.

Update: Looks like both of the repair shops I went to gave me the same story - the only way to get it is through the manufacturer. Looks like a conversation with Phoenix is my only choice.

I did replace a few laptop screens in the past but can't remember the site I used for the replacements.
    Maybe try here, https://m.repairsuniverse.com/lcdscreens.html

I was wondering how you found that, but saw you originally posted those. I'm pretty sure I read over these threads when installing mine, nice work.

Thanks for the link. Site looked promising but does not show any screens that would seem compatible with our unit.

I'm definitely going to be doing this modification when I get the screen all settled. Thanks again.

I went and purchased a 7.1 fastboot unit with A/C buttons. Is anyone running an aftermarket amp, how did you connect it? I am going to get a plug and play amp from ********* soon, but i just dropped a $1500+ and was going to hold out and use my old pioneer mono amp.

I'm using an aftermarket amp from James. He sells the connectors to plug into the factory harness under the passenger seat. Only real work is running the power wire to the battery but that's cake

If you can find the manufacturer's name and a part number you could try googling it, and maybe see if Phoenix might have one. Good luck.

Yeah, i took the unit apart and found the model number located on the back. The only thing google came up with was a few chinese sites that I had to have translated. One of the repair shops I went to confirmed that as well since he couldn't locate the part either. Yeah, I'm thinking, at least at this point in the game, Phoenix will probably be my best bet.

Did you have to move a wire to have it turn on with ACC?

I have looked through the forum and the FB group. Some one posted a picture showing a cut wire from the manufacturer, but I didn't see where to reconnect it, or how to power it on ACC.

Do you mean the current temp on the driver info display behind the steering wheel or on the head unit?

No, he's talking about the temperature for the a/c and heat. Unless a fix was released, it doesn't display properly on the upper end models

Dont be, they dont broadcast that they are the same entity. Just another way for a company to expand I suppose. I've seen this many times in other car club/ forums I've been on. Their customer support/ service department (or single person) is who told me they are one in the same.
