    Nice man congrats.

So I installed mine...no worky...unit doesn't boot, but passenger airbag indicator light lights up for a few seconds before going out.

H E L P please if you can. See below. I numbered each harness connector from both the truck and HU sides. If you have this installed on a 2007-2013 Tundra, and can fill in the blanks below as to whether they need a connection or not, please reply. I have emails and calls into Phoenix, nothing yet. I've poured over here and the FB pages trying to see some answers or insight.

    2012 SR5 double cab, non-JBL.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but the attached pics below is what I have for connections. A "check mark" means there was a mated connection, X" means there's no mate for a connection found. Besides the provided OBDII and GPS tether connectors (not shown), I feel like maybe something was not shipped with this unit.

    From the truck HVAC:

    4)
    5) This one doesn't make any sense to me that didn't have a mated connection from the Android HU. It's a very specific-looking connector. I feel like I'm missing a harness from Phoenix on this one...

    8) Excuse my ignorance, but what is a CAN BUS and why doesn't my pickup harness give something to go in this big black box?

    Screenshot_20190224-095344_Gallery.jpg
    1)
    2) Yep, GPS got it lol. But, do I have to use the supplied Android's GPS tether, or is there a factory GPS connection on my SR5's factory stereo harness that you see (or know of that I'm missing) that can be used?

    Thanks for any help!

Try disconnecting the USB to the truck. Mine won't turn on when that's connected.

    Hey thanks for the reply!

Do you mean disconnect the Android's connection to the factory USB/AUX?

    Thanks, I'll try that.

So the little blue optical-looking cable (#5) from the factory stereo harness...what is that? Doesn't that need to be plugged in to the Android for something??

I hate it for you. Check the truck connectors and the one with the android . Make sure all of the pins are straight and that none are bent.

Pins look good, connections are clicked in hard, fuse is good on the back of the unit, unit has been checked and verified for power. The harness from the unit showed up with one wire (orange) that had been cut and left bare on a connector that I taped up but do not see another end where it should go (see pic). Not f'n cool...

Did you get the GB door and dash speakers? How’s it sound? Can’t pick mine up for 2 weeks. Might do sub/amp later.

I didn't do the speakers, but everything else. This HU completely changes the sound of the speakers (better) and eliminates the factory HUs problem of over driving the speakers

Finally installed my front cam yesterday, it’s a different harness that comes in the box that plugs into the top right looking at the back of the android HU, blue end with 2 yellow video ports among others. Orange wire on the same harness is power supply so you don’t need to battery the cam, like this vid:

Yes! Adding the android HU is a surprising loudness improvement I’ve enjoyed for a little while. I’m hoping the GB speakers will give it more clarity, those are the initial impressions from the stock HU buyers.

I'm non as well and my amp and wiring kit come in tomorrow or Wednesday. I was planning on running the factory route unless James from 12 volts has other recommendations in the instructions

I posted the below over on the "What Have You Done..." thread, but figured I'd post here as well since it's the Tesla-style Android HU...

I have the JBL “Premium” system. Got the Tesla style HU installed a few months back, really enjoying it. That upgrade alone took the JBL audio system out of POS status. The factory JBL amp actually doesn’t sound bad at all once I installed the HU; the factory HU just doesn’t allow the factory amp to push enough watts to the speakers. The factory JBL speakers aren’t audiophile level by any means, but once they got more watts, and I added bass blockers to all (4) door midranges, they’re not bad at all. I’ll still probably upgrade my mids and tweeters though in the future using James at tech12volts, just broke now . Added (2) 10” subs (a JBL and an Infinity, which I found out from James is the exact same sub; Harman has two subsidiaries, JBL and Infinity), and a JBL amp rated at 1,000 watts RMS under my driver’s seat, and the system is now everything I expected.

That HU alone makes the Tundra as viable as any of the Big 3s offerings. I looked at the Alpine Restyles, but I hate the current trend of an "Ipad" bolted horizontal to the dash.

Run position. One of the very minor issues with this unit.

Did you get the version 2 with the two knobs on the top, or the previous version with threes knobs on the bottom? If the former, don’t be shocked when you do not see HVAC temps for the dual zone auto AC. They’ve been working on a fix for that on 2018s and 2019s (Limited, Platinum, and 1794 trims) for a few months now, and apparently it will take a few more months. That’s really the only major negative issue I have left with the unit; all the other issues are minor compared to the value at $550, and how much it opens up the JBL audio system (if you have JBL).

Good to hear that im not the only one with unit being on in the RUN position ,i thought i wired it wrong.
Yes i have jbl and noticed audio being better with this unit. Also im aware of dual ac not displaying temperature only HI and LOW. I joined Facebook group and been doing alot of reading on this thread.Looks like i still have a long ways to go to tweak this unit to my liking :

Where did you get that sub enclosure/box from? Did you get it from James? And how is it with the fitment behind the seat?
