All of your knobs are replaced with the 3 new ones and should work just fine with a SR5, Limited and above have an issue with the temperature reading display not right.

 

There is a new fast boot model with the 3 nobs removed..

 

I didnt even know this thread existed. I recently installed the newer fast boot model. I passed on the first one because the unit would not allow me to have my NSV controls. So far this system works as awesome as it looks. I'm not an Android guy so it took me a while to get acquainted with the language of the system. There's also a little Facebook Page (which I'm sure most of you guys are on) consisting of owners who help out with issues and whatnot.

BTW. I lost my audible tone for my lock and unlock when I installed this. Can anyone help me out with that? Kinda want it back.

Yep i did see you on FB and i have seen they are very helpful, did you get the 360° cam or the security cam?

 

Also have you checked the settings on the Cur Vol? Don't know if you can on new units. Mine was only at 30 after installing the unit and max is at 64, think i run it at 55 or 60 now and it rocks the house!!!.

I didnt get either one. Now that I'm kinda getting the grasp of things I may explore into both. Have no clue what 360 cam does. I was gonna get the front cam and see if I can integrate it as a dash cam with a dvr

 

OH yea, Im pleasantly on how this headunit unlocks the radio to a potential the OEM one did not

 

I'll give it a shot. I think someone already did tho. What is it you're looking for? IRRC, after the first initial boot when it was newly installed, it kicks into normal operating mode within 2-5 seconds. The app speed and response time for maneuvering through multiple pages/ sites and other apps is determined on strength of signal to you wifi or hot spot.

 

maybe just a normal startup in park, and one where you instantly put it in reverse after you start the truck.

I remember seeing a video of the first gen, and it was painfully slow.

The first gen rear cam will come instantly as soon as you put it in reverse but the radio will not boot up for 30 sec or so.

9in screen, 500GB mounted in glove box. Built-in wifi. Front MicroSD slot. Android 8.1

 

Looks like the glare would be really bad on that

 

One of my co workers has one on order for his 4 runner. Says he got the works, 360, with security. I told to send a vid after install.

 

Unavoidable at that angle but it's really not that bad.

Luckily we watch the road, not our head units.
