Have you considered just downloading the app to the HU so you don't have to stream the music from your iphone?

 

Which app? iTunes? I use Apple Music, radio and podcasts. I don’t use anything else

 

Looks like there is Apple Music only problem is apparently the device isn’t compatible with this version

 

I had that issue. The wires, cables and canbus were causing it. I just made sure all of them were pushed all the way back as I was putting the unit back in. It was a pain.

 

Even though everything works so far, does anybody know what the male USB is for? I know what the 2 females are for but I'm not sure what the male is used for.

 

How do you install these other app stores?

 

You plug the male USB into one of the Female USB provided. Once you do that your factory USB plug in next to the cigarette lighter will work and read info on the Unit.

Just Google Alternative Google Play Stores in the web browser on the head unit and you will get results with tech blogs that give a list of alternatives. The blogs will provide there reviews on each one. It will be up to you what you choose. The blogs will usually provide links to download each app store. I recommend Aptoide they verify the apps to make sure they are safe and contain no malware or virus.

 

If anyone hears from 1971Sport I sure would like to know how the rings worked out so I can order and install...

How it looks plugged into the back of the unit? Your stock usb will work if you plug the provided USB adaptors together

 

I updated the firmware and there are a lot more themes you can choose from. The only thing is the themes that have the weather on them uses Celsius and I can't find a way to change them to Farenhiet. The weather is also in Chinese even though I selected English. I'll have to dig into settings a little more. For the themes to take full effect, you have to power off the unit and restart it.

 

That kinda sucks I like the original plugged into the spot on the bottom

 

I have been successful in changing the color to blue been busy haven't been able to follow up.but here it is i ordered these plexi rings cut to 39mm outside x 22mm inside the out side fits really close and inside fit really snug on post so i opened them up with a half round file barely so it would slide on freely.he can cut them very precise within .3mm . For the buttons i found 4 layers of the tape is the best to dim them enough for my liking. The rings need 8 layers of the tape to match. The 3 sheets of vinyl tape is plenty to do the whole project. cut into 2 inch sections . I only applied the tape to one side and i lightly sanded the other side to fog the clarity to diffuse the light better. I cannot get a good night time pic for some reason but trust me they are alot dimmer and Blue . took me around an 2 hours to do the whole unit.The inside of the knobs need 4 layers of tape also for the worded part of the knobs.You might have some minor light bleed on the outer edge of the plexi rings i just got a large thin rubber o ring to fill the gap.Infact there is enough material to do 2 mabey 3 units if someone wants to share the cost

 

...keep up the awesome fixes. You guys have some great ideas here. Once you get everything working right, please forward that information over to China, so they can get the android radio correctly working and everyone else can enjoy your hard work.

 

You do use the original plug. You just have to connect it using the cable they supplied to have it working.

 

Yeah I think it's a beta right now. It's not even compatible with my Note 8.

Once you plug them in your stock usb next to the cigarette lighter works.. Is yours not working? I am confused.

 

I have to check again I can’t remember but I may have not connected them properly or didn’t add it

 

Finally got mines in....still have to mess around with it a bit.... ordered me a touch commander on cyber monday so i can keep my satellite radio... just wairing on it to come. I did the firmware update right off the back.

 

So far... the Sony ax-100 has been a good choice. Ya get to access a bunch of functions by saying "hey google" plus navigation and spotify and all the other podcast.

Well, my bluetooth stopped working. Its stuck on initializing. I've factory reset it twice and made sure all the connections in the back were solid. Still nothing. I've contacted the seller and waiting for a responce.

Update: looks like I accidentally changed the BT Model when I was browsing the different themes. It's now fixed.

 

What's the name of that theme you chose

 

The UI Style (bottom panel) is Classics Theme and the UI Number (Top panel) is Classics UI.
