You can try that pin as positive on an rca and ground the rca to the frame of the hu.

You dont need to specifically have a sub RCA, depending on your setup. If you are going to use an audio processor (which I would highly recommend) most of them allow you to input a full range signal, and map output wherever you want. For example, with my setup, I only have the F RCAs connected to my JL Audio Twk 88. That gives me the full range signal. Then I route the signal through my eq for each speaker and then to the destination on the processor I want to output to. I will post an image of the interface so you can see it when I can. A processor, especially the TWK 88, allows you to do a ton of stuff (time delay, polarity adjustment, 80 freaking bands of EQ, full active crossover system, adjust gains, adjust input voltage, etc.

For this tesla radio though, Im guessing you can solder your own RCA plug on that wire and use it in mono. But no one knows what the preout voltage is for it.

And the vendor confirm that is the pin for the sub?

Here are the pictures of the processor software and how routing can be done.

If you are asking me about the Tesla unit, I have no idea what the vendor said. I had no intention of using it, so I haven't looked into it very much. In my previous post, I was going off of the picture another user posted of the RCA plugs where the bare wire was labeled "Sub"

Thanks for uploading that! I’ll try that twk 88 out possibly. I might try using a few rca Y splitters and run it off the rear rca preouts and “fade” it into the sub amp. Hopefully that works as a start...

No problem, and no splitters are needed. If you want to tie the sub in with the rear, just route the sub off of the rear inputs. In my example, I only have the front two inputs hooked up because Im only running a front stage. My focal front component set is so loud, I would never hear the rear set, so I put the money in other equipment. To keep fade capability, you would need to use both front and rear preouts

Gotcha! Thanks for the tips. I’ll probably hookup the headunit this weekend hopefully but I probably won’t run the amps and subs till Christmas break. I’ll definitly be bugging you more then:)

No problem. Here is the link to my audio build. Some of this will apply to what you are doing and should help you.

Well mine arrived today. Unfortunately the bezel was cracked. Not happy at all. We’ll see how they want to rectify this. I’ll keep you guys posted.

They offered me a $10 refund for a cracked bezel. What a joke. Guess I’m returning it.

It is kind of a pain in the ass. You have push the two litle black tabs in and push from the back.. The socket will slide out of the black housing

Pictures? This cracked bezel thing seems more common than just bad handeling.

I had one on order, but I cancelled it. Too many issues in my opinion.

I expressed this to the vendor and he wanted to argue with me. So yeah I'm not surprised he only offered $10.

I asked them if the bezel can be replaced, if so I requested them to source an extra bezel and hopefully send it to me. I think that’s a fair compromise. If not then yes, a return is warranted.

You have to use the discount code to get the lower price because the website still shows the $715.99 number.

    Code: TunDra15P

I just tried it and the price in the cart went down to $551.31.

If you look at Phoenix's site the second photo in you will see the same dark bezel that is shown on Espony's site. I think it is just a stock photo.

That sucks, the packaging sucks, they just put a plastic bag over it then foam all around. Nothing to support the weight from the radio vs the screen

I think too many people jumped all over this too quickly. Typically, there are just a few guinea pigs to test these things out and the rest of the community benefits from their reviews. This unit looks really cool, but seems like there are quality issues with shipping, and aside from the looks, I can’t quite figure out what the pros are.
