    I understand your logic. I think it comes down to different branches=different mission=different priorities = different culture.
    I was a comm guy my first enlistment and the day I touched down in Afghanistan, I was sent to an infantry battalion to do security patrols for 6 months. Didn't do a single comm thing. That's very common in the Marine Corps though and the reason why we value fitness probably above all else.

    Just like your service weapon lean, clean and mean.
