Cool! Glad to hear you got them working! As fit the puddle lights, I shitcanned them cause I didn’t like how they looked in photos and feel it’s a mostly useless feature.

    Thanks.
I agree WRT the provided lighting is totally inadequate, and near-to-being useless

Maybe it’s just me but my wiring isn’t matching up with the directions. I’ve got everything mounted, wires routed, motors hooked up. Literally the only thing left is the 4 wires and install the fuse. I have a 2020 limited. Called AMP and they told me the pin location doesn’t matter, just use the wires from instructions. Dies this sound right?

Can you post photos of the wires you think it is?

Sure give me a bit as I’m currently on the road. I saw your post earlier in the thread where you tapped into the pink/red wire. That was the only wire that I thought was a right wire

    I'm struggling with my install.

I'm all done but one door. Three doors deploy the step as expected except the driver front. It does not. I am uploading a picture of the wire I tapped. I've tapped it with three different post taps, shaved a little of the plastic off to help get a better connection and still no luck. Perhaps this is the wrong wire?

I've contacted Amp but they told me "keep trying".

It's the bottom white bracket, blue/gray wire, 4th from the bottom. It looks slightly damaged but that's just because the times I've tried tapping it.

Is this a ground? Amp guys are telling me if I ground the wire the wire in question, it should deploy the step.

I simply touched that wire to a few spots in the wheel well I thought might be grounds and nothing happened. They're telling me to try again. If that doesn't work they want me to do a bunch of horse shit around testing wires with multi-meters for this and that (this is beyond my technical understanding). It comes down to they think they wire could be faulty and if that's the case, they send me a new wire harness and I have to uninstall the entire wiring I've done and re-install.

I told them if that's the case they can take this thing back and I'll install running boards with no electrical. I'm sick of this bullshit. The wiring is the hardest part. No way I'm doing that all over again.

Yeah, any of that metal in there is grounded. That's exactly what those two white/black wires are.

Tell them to send you a new brain and you'll see if that fixes it.

    It's fixed and working.

Here was the problem and solution. The wire leading from the harness to my driver side front door needed to be pushed into the controller more. That's it. It doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the quality of the work on the wiring harness and controller. It doesn't give me much confidence that the wires won't back out because of the vibrations of driving the truck but for whatever it's worth now, it's all working now.

Thanks to all for your help. Hopefully if someone else encounters this problem they'll read this thread and be able to push the wires back in and try it again.

Good you got them connected. I was frustrated with mine when I installed them. Had trouble finding wire for drivers side rear door, so I just left it disconnected, I'm OK with it, thats the side I usually load stuff in back anyways, so don't need the step, and rarely have back seat down for any riders...Be sure to register them with AMP and keep your receipt handy for warranty..

When I had amp steps on my Sierra I used the VLED strips
    https://www.vleds.com/shop-products/light-bars/wpb-w-5-5k.html

I plan on using these again when I get steps for the tundra.
