Patrick Collins, CEO of TheGunFood.com, says he's "lost" thousands of dollars worth of ammunition. Why? Because customers’ orders don’t always seem to make it to their doors — especially when delivering with UPS. In fact, he says out of 18,000 rounds of ammunition shipped through UPS, only a third were actually delivered. That's a lot of ammo to go missing.

Collins said UPS blames the packaging even though his company has always "met and exceeded" all available packaging protocols.

"I have pictures of how the packages are packed (and) within the packages," he explained. "And I have all of that information. In fact, we changed our protocol here at TheGunFood.com to have our drivers, when they drop off the packages at the centers, they have to actually take a picture of it on the conveyor belt when UPS takes possession of our packages."

Collins also mentioned his company isn't the only one to have ammunition go missing during delivery. "I know quite a few other folks, that have had well over $300,000 of ammunition gone missing. And it's really changed the way we have to do our business," he said.

So UPS is making a decision to "seize and destroy" packages sent through them. Sounds to me that they may be violating multiple federal laws.

I guess if you cant pass the gun control you want just find ways to hit them where it hurts financially. I would just have to assume they have these packages insured.

One would think. That's why I initially put no stock in it when people started reporting about it.

A third of deliveries is a shit load and something is definitely going on. I don't know the last time I bought ammo from a physical store, many years ago, but I've never had an issue from shipping. Not that that says much, but it would seem like that store is being disproportionately targeted (whether from a shipping company or individuals). The fact the OPs quote mentions that the company sees issues even through other shipping companies makes the whole thing even more suspicious.

Maybe they should throw some airtags in a few boxes and see where they end up, if it's truly one in three packages then they shouldn't need many to quickly narrow down the problem.

I've seen this on multiple forums and haven't been able to find a rebuttal from UPS anywhere. Add the missing packages to the accounts cancelled by UPS (including Brownells) and you have a good reason to avoid UPS at all costs.

Nothin' to see here. Merely supplementing the 5 million rounds purchased by the IRS.

Theres a good chance it wont be investigated either. Just within the last year in CA a bunch of guns(along with a plethora of other goods) where stolen off of trains. The State police put it off on the ATF, the AFT then put it off on the train company and as far as I know nothing ever came from it. Seems to me they are only interested in what law abiding citizens are upto. The ATF had no problem following up with legal purchases going door to door this past month is several situations asking to see peoples firearms they purchased to account for them.

I don't order a great deal but what I have ordered has come in a timely manner and in good condition. Insure everything nowadays because people really don't care if they get fired because they really don't want to work, and everything needs to be packed well and double boxed

I ordered some ammo online and when I came home from work the box was sitting on the ground at the curb. Good thing that I live on a cul-da-sac.
