I’m looking at getting a tuff country 4 inch lift for my 17 SR5 but don’t want any problems.Should I go with a 3/1 or a 4/2? I like the look of the 4 inch better. Any suggestions?

I don't think Tuff Country, Rough Country, etc. are considered "quality lifts." I think with lifts you tend to get what you pay for. The appropriate lift depends what you're planning to do with the truck. I personally like to keep my lift mild because it isn't as hard on your suspension geometry, steering components etc. If you want to keep it as a street queen with 35" tires and a cheap lift....or do you want to be able to take it offroad frequently? Avoid spacers and blocks if you plan to go offroad and want to maintain good handling/ride quality. What are your plans with the truck? How do you plan to use it? Do you plan to tow heavier loads? Are you hauling gear around? Or just girls to the mall?

What kind of offroading are you planning for? And is that the kit with a arms and coil and strut spacers?

Not going to do much off roading but maybe once in a blue moon but other than that I do a lot of surf fishing and bass fishing.I would like to keep it decent handling and ride but like the looks of the four-inch better.

Why not just go balls out and get a BDS 6" lift? :D

Those are urinal cakes (spacers) that go on top of your shocks. It puts a LOT of preload on your springs and will have a very harsh ride. IMO.

What ever you decide to do I suggest staying away from spacers larger then level. If you want a good ride still. The only reason I say that is because I have had a level kit first on my truck. Rode decent still then a yr later went with a 6" R.C lift with the big spacers. Then finally got the lifted struts for the ride quality. My set up now. But definitely dont use big spacers you will be disappointed.

Wow Probably not a great idea to buy products from a company that doesnt even know the technicalities of the platform they're designing to, regardless of where they're from.:notsure:

I always think its funny how people are fast to put other people's lift kits down when they have never had them on their truck maybe you have but idk I dont have any issues with my truck for what I use it for . i had a jeep once with a pro comp lift. It was junk.

Apologies did not mean to offend just know that the Country lifts dont typically get the best reviews from what I've seen personally. If it works for you and you're happy with it that's all that matters.

It’s a spacer lift. And with all due respect not a high quality spacer lift. This guy came asking for some input. Do you prefer people blow smoke up his rear or give their honest input?

I agree. And trust me not offended I do know some of their kits are not good for other brand vehicles. but yes so far I have been happy but also I'm not an off roader and only drive my truck like 8k miles a yr. So maybe I'm not the best example. Lol. Not offended Takes way more then this Haha

Nope. I don't. My input is if hes going to drive his truck on the concrete he will be OK that's my only input.

OP. Don’t but that 4 inch kit. Asking for issues.

Just but toytec coilovers on a budget, or Bilsteins 5100 and set it around 2.5 inch. It will fit a taller tire
