After installing the ILX-F511, does it show factory error code notifications like the stock head unit?

Sorry, I meant those notifications that tell you something is wrong and to go to the dealer to have it checked or whatever.

Pretty sure you lose those, but yeah - I’ve never seen them prior to installing the Alpine.
I also don’t visit the dealer except if I need to pick up parts I ordered online and wanted to avoid shipping costs (rare).

Only one I ever saw was a tire pressure issue which ended up being nothing and resolved on its own. I was just curious if any of that stuff is retained. I never take any of my trucks to the dealer either, do all work myself or have a mechanic friend help me.

Yes, if you use the MRR it’ll tell you when there’s a CEL but I don’t know if it’ll give you the code or just augment the CEL in the dash.

Maestro module to keep as much functionality as possible, and may add a few features as well. I used the MRR2, can’t remember if it was just the Bluetooth version or what

I ordered the ILX-F511 bundle from Trailgridpro so not sure what it has. All I know is it’s plug and play and all steering wheel controls, etc are retained.

Did anyone go with the black instead of the matching silver mount? Curious how the black looks.

I ordered the black but when he came we were doing both mine and my wifes 4Runner which he was missing a major part to complete it and the black was too shiny that matched absolutely nothing in the truck. Got the silver the nevxt day and completed both installs

I believe he had the MRR for the wrong year was all but allowed me to hold off until he came back to complete the install. The Tundra is not a daily driver

Okay, I ordered the silver which matches the climate control. Sounds like I made the right choice.

I was curious because there is gloss black where the Tundra logo is above the climate controls . I thought it might tie in well but it sounds like that is not the case.

Looking at the black on top of the dash area the shiny black would have looked out of place in my opinion

How good is the amp in the ILX-F511 for pushing some Alpine S Series speakers? Garbage or decent?

Any issues? How difficult was it? Did any factory wires need to be cut? I ordered the ILX-F511 from Trailgridpro so I’m curious what this bypass entails when installing. Hard to find directions.

    Check post #8

You wire it between your Maestro and alpine wiring harnesses. It was very simple to do.

I used the TR1, Im not sure if theres in difference in the other two. But the TR1 works as intended, looks like its the cheapest too. Keep in mind you have a lot of wiring and components to cram behind the Alpine. Make sure you check out those other posts.

All work the same, cheapest doesn’t lose any functionality. I had one installed with my deck, and now I can watch UFC while driving on the highway. Don’t worry though, I put my beer in a cup holder and steer with both hands. I’m not an animal, guys

Probably a dumb question but I’ll ask anyway - does the TR1 cause the parking break light on the dash to stay on?

Do any of you have experience with the Sony XAV-9500ES? How does it compare with the ILX-F511?
