    Those alpharex do look nice!
On a side not The only reason I have not replaced my headlights is because I was looking for an all led headlight version.

Was wondering if anybody had a pair of the the Headlight Revolution XB LED headlights for 2nd gen. Picture of what I’m talking about below. These lights look amazing just haven’t Wondering if anybody has them already.

Got a package today but didn’t get time to put them on. Hopefully I’ll get time tomorrow.

I have no experience with other aftermarket headlight brands, but the plug and play seems easy enough. Even the DRL harness looks easy, but I want to tap in a kill switch so I can go dark when necessary.

As another poster said, after install, a screw driver runs down the back and engages the teeth in the cog to adjust angle. Looks super easy to adjust if you can figure it out.

Also looks like they take a H7 low beam so I can’t reuse my LEDs.

Looks like you got the Pros. I'm between them and the Nova's. Supposedly there plug n play with leds, but you will have to do some modifications with hids.

Do you know if 55w HIDs are safe for the low beam? What modifications do the HIDs require? Thanks.

I wouldn't run 55 watt. My buddy ran them in his Spyders and melted the lens. You will be fine with a 35 watt ballast with a 5500-6500 k color temp.

Your report on the Alpharex's and the HR V.4's is starting to draw me in despite possible/unknown sealing or clearcoat issues. Aside from the price, the Morimotos are in such low supply.

Is the old go-to about LED bulbs in projectors a bunch of crap nowadays? At least for quality bulbs.

Thanks, I went back and re-read the thread and saw your post!

Thanks for the heads up and that’s what I was hoping to hear. Not worth the chance.

Yeah your better off with going with the leds like Bryan mentioned above, then it's plug n play with no mods

I put the headlights on today and all went well for the most part. Just a couple things I noted:

    - check your connectors! I had difficulty plugging in the highbeam and said I’ll come back to it. I forgot to go back, forgot to check the high beams during pre-mount checks, and installed everything. When I tested the high beams, the one I had difficulty was out. Bingo, just gotta plug it all the way. I barely had enough room but couldn’t get it to connect. I took it apart and noticed one of the pins were curved. Thank god it didn’t break. Bent it straight and all worked.

    - the blue wired plug is the low beam and the black and white are high beams. I didn’t notice any indication and got lucky and got it right the first time.

    - be gentle removing the trim under the headlights. I found out why one of mine was rattling and the previous owner broke one of the tabs. Pull straight out and watch a DIY instructional first if it’s out there.

    - if you are getting leaks, make sure you installed the parking light plug into the headlight. The parking lamp comes with a wire instead of a bulb that plugs into the female plug of the trucks harness. I just plugged the two together and didn’t catch on that it still had to be twisted in until the second light. Idiot move but glad I caught it.

    - don’t over tighten the top mounting screws. Previous owner did and I think I can just replace the nylon tab. Lightly pry the headlight tab off of the nylon tab that the screw goes into.

    - I would recommend doing this in warmer weather. At 30ish degrees I thought some old plastic piece would snap.

    - don’t stare into high beams, they are like laser beams.

Fitment was a lot better than the pictures a previous poster posted. Better than I had hoped. The color of the halogen is sad but I’m going to give them a run for a short while. It has yet to get dark but I posted some pics in an album and I hope the link below works.

Thanks for the pics! I know you're sticking with halogens for now, but were you looking at HID's or LED's?

Fitment looks good:thumbsup: Your definitely gonna want to upgrade on your bulbs. Did you hook up the led tube for drls?

To cold to get many pics.

I like the idea of the Headlight Revolution LED’s posted earlier but they aren’t cheap for a pair of bulbs. Ive got a few other need-to-do’s before I come back to the bulbs.

Not yet. Once I get an idea for a kill switch, I’m going to throw it on. I’m really excited to see how bright it is because it’s already brighter than I thought at half power.

There are instructions on Alpharex site. Have a grey wire that goes to the ignition fuse slot with an add a fuse purchased separately. I put the negative on the firewall next to the battery where there were already negatives screwed in and put the positive to the battery terminal.

Word is that Alpha Owls are awful and should be avoided like the plague. Mostly issues with very poor light output, I believe.

Those look awesome. I've been debating on the Alpharex lights to spruce mine up. My OEM's are hazy and I buy the $30 kit every year and clear them up.

I checked my lights this morning and it doesn’t do the fancy start up sequence. Is that a separate add-on?

That's the extra you get for buying the more expensive version.

Do you mean the Nova’s? Because they have a video on their site with these headlights doing the sequence start up. The only other more expensive pro-series are with the adjusting motors, but the same headlights.

    https://alpharexusa.com/product/07-...ights-mid-night-black-without-level-adjuster/

just checked the ad and it says it comes with it. Mine does not do the sequence.

Ahh. I'm going off Amazon. They have a non-activation PRO version for cheaper. Only thing I can think of is mis-wired something.

Gotcha. I bought it through alpharex and they indicate it was the new model that had the feature, which I should have. I emailed them and we will see what happens. I hope they didn’t slip me an old model because I stacked the coupon codes lol.

edit: just wanted to add, that feature may only work when DRL are hooked up but the site doesn’t indicate that. Will report back.
