So you have tried the bulbs I suggested and they did not work out well for you? Suck?

Do you mean the Philips? Not currently - I've got a set of HIDs that will be going in. I spent the weekend cleaning and organizing the garage instead of getting truck stuff done (including installing the headlights). I want to find a nice spot where I can get some pics for reference (current setup of LEDs with stock halogen housing, Alpharex with stock included halogen bulbs, and Alpharex with HID bulbs).

My reference for the Philips was my old Acura RSX, years ago, and I did not have good results with them. First set blew as soon as I turned them on...second set lasted maybe 6 months. I ended up putting the original halogens back in and ran them until I traded in the car. I guess my appetite to try them again is minimal, but I'll see how the results are with the Alpharex setup(s) above.

I'm truly a Honda guy at heart (89 CRX, 91 CRX, 97 Civic, 02 RSX, 08 Pilot, 08 MDX, 13 CBR250R)...the only one I still have is the bike. I can't even count the miles I've put on those things all together. The only actual issues I had between all of them:

RSX needed a new O2 sensor (traded it in at 102k, from new)
MDX had a (known) issue with the rear case...Acura covered the majority of it since I was just barely past the mileage limit ($4,500ish down to about $800; extended warranty to 120k).

Okay, so I got these installed yesterday and mostly going, but had to tweak some things to get it all figured out today:

    1. Realized on the way to hockey last night the driver's side was stupidly low. On the highest setting for the motors, it illuminated the road about 25 feet in front of me and no more. Nice cutoff though. I need to find a spot at night where I can truly dial them in, but I tweaked them a bit in the garage a while ago to where I think it should help at least a little bit. Granted, it's during the daytime, and not a real level surface, but it's a start. I basically put the motors all the way down, then raised the driver's side up to the height of the passenger side and moved the motor to the middle setting. We'll see how it goes.

    2. Yesterday, I couldn't get the sequential turn signal to work...discovered that it apparently only works once the DRL harness is installed...

    3. Temporarily installed the DRL harness a short bit ago and came up with a few questions. Everything seems to work just fine - sequential on/off, sequential turn, bright/dim DRLs...but...

    4. There's a LOT of wires coming/going off the DRL harness. Both the lights AND the harness have yellow wires/plugs that...apparently don't need to be connected or do anything? Any idea why? Are they there for people without the standard DRLs on their trucks or something? Seems like a LOT of extra stuff for no apparent reason, since all the functions seem to work. Thinking I can either just cap them off or cut them off. No idea what I'd ever use them for. Seems a little odd.

The next steps are aligning the headlights properly, and cleaning up the DRL harness/wiring installation, as it's all just kind of hanging there right now. Then I need to figure something out for running the HIDs in there instead of the included halogens. I have a few ideas, but it'll take me a bit to actually come up with a final design to get them to seal up properly and keep any water/moisture out as best I can. Drilling the holes and flooding it with silicone sealant isn't in the plans. I'm sure it works, but it looks terrible.

    Two options:

    1. drill a hole and thread in a PVC elbow that faces down. It should keep water out and would be pretty simple to do. It would be big enough to pass the wires through. I could always try and find a rubber cap for it as well that would be easily removeable in order to replace the bulbs as needed.

    2. Find a plug/harness that would fit that essentially allows you to plug the bulb in at the cap itself, and seal that up. That way the bulb would disconnect from both sides and I could seal the pass-through up that way without just running the wires through it. I could probably cannibalize a couple old bulb sockets from old ballasts and/or bulbs that could be re-purposed for it.

Looking at the HID kit I got... I'm thinking I can simply drill a hole and use the included gasket to seal it up. If it's that simple, I'll be happy!

    1. Wired it all up...it's kind of a weird setup since both the harness AND the headlights themselves have the yellow wire connectors. Apparently they do nothing...it might just be a universal type harness they use for everything and it's cheaper to make them in bulk and they just stick them in everything they make. I've just got it all bundled together and tucked away for right now.

    2. Had a slight blip/annoyance in getting them in yesterday - I wired them all up temporarily and everything seemed to work just fine. Went back out later to do a better more permanent install and...lo and behold, fast blink on the signals, no DRLs...WTF? Took apart and put together the signal marker wiring setup a few times to see if reversing it worked (it did just fine), and got nowhere. Played around with the included fuse for the DRL harness and realized the fuse was a little loose in the holder. That fixed the issue. Not a fan of the little black fuse box, so I'm going to have to find something a little better and wire it in later to replace that. I can easily see the fuse coming loose again.

Other than that, all done and pretty happy with it. Need to get out in the dark and find somewhere to dial the lights in yet, but everything seems to be working and at the very least, it has to be better than the last attempt with the mis-matched aiming of the headlights right after install!

Curious...has anyone else who installed these noticed the first two flashes on the turn signal are shorter than "normal"? I'm guessing it's something to do with the sequential signal and the DRL box getting a signal from turning, but wanted to see what the group experience was. Seems to be working just fine...

Just installed the Alpha Rex Pros (without level adjuster) on my 2012 Limited. Everything seems to work except my turn signals. I am waiting on a call back from tech support. Anyone run into that here?

From my understanding, you either open it up or replace the whole thing. I'm not sure how feasible opening it up is, particularly finding a matching/replacement bulb. It's sure to be soldered in there too...

That sucks. Should of just bought a Pro if it was that hard. Can easily replace the bulb. Hopefully alpharex can come up with a solution other then buy a whole new headlight.

Do the signals themselves work? If the orange bulbs are on all the time that's normal, those are your DRLs. You'd have to post pics of the lights and wiring. Did you use the DRL harness?

Just helped a buddy install the Pro's on his Tundra. The high beams are not coming on. We looked at the fuses, and everything looks good. I find it hard to believe both high beams are bad, especially since they are a sealed bulb. Anyone have this problem? Need help. thanks

I believe some have mentioned the connection being the issue and having to push the connections on even further/harder to get a good connection and then they worked

not sure if that’s the problem in your case

I definitely had to play around with the harness to get a good connection. The posts don't align exactly with the holes.

Do you have a link to which model of Sealights you bought?
I would like to put LEDs into my stock housing.
Later on I would like to upgrade to LED assembly either OEMs or Morimotos, but for now I just want the LED bulbs.

Ignoring the fact the Honda's design department hasn't done anything remotely attractive in 20 years, It really is too bad one can only drive these supremely reliable conveyances when the sun is up.

Must be a pain in the ass not to be able to replace a simple halogen bulb without issue. Is this why the aftermarket headlight craze seemed to start with Honda's???

I originally had responded to discussion regarding higher output halogen bulbs, with a recommendation for Philips bulbs which have lasted me 5 years (so far), and provided superior output.

My comment was intended to poke fun by making what is clearly a ridiculous statement, but yall can turn this thread into some weird, Honda, circle-jerk, should that suit your fancy.

Be careful not to force them in.. you can bend the pins. Mine were off slightly, I had to bend them to line up with the female end. Then they clicked in easily.

Can't really say if I "feel better" than you. No way to make the comparison.

But I can undoubtedly SEE better, with my Philips Xtravision, long lasting, halogen headlamp bulbs

Correct me if I am wrong but the AlphaRex Pro use a H7 halogen bulb so for those of you that upgraded that to LED you used the H7?
