And make sure every harness on the headlight is connected. I had left a couple of harnesses unused thinking they were for other models because I watched the wrong YouTube video. My symptoms were similar to yours.

Has anyone with the non-leveling headlights looked at or attempted to swap over the leveling motors? I've seen a couple people who said they've done it with some Spyder headlights, and the Alpharex would seem to have the same type of single up/down adjustment screw, although there may be some minor modification required on the tabs to hold the motor in? I'd like to keep my leveling...but it's also not required. If I can figure out a way to do it though...

Also, anyone WITH the levels...is it an actual motor that comes with the headlight, or did they modify the back of the headlight so you can swap it over?

thanks a lot, that was it! I was thinking my lights didn’t come with the sequential blinkers for some reason so I ended up plugging them into themselves. I will make a note if anyone wants to drive around with the amber halo on all the time, just plug the light into itself(of course you’ll have some other issues along with it)

This is the same thing that happened to me. The listing from alpha when I bought was vague. I ended up retaining my leveling feature also. Very happy with mine so far

Do you know where they're leaking from? Or into, I guess? I just ordered a set last night and had a good discussion with their rep about a few things.

What type of lighting are you using? There are known issues with HIDs, which is my plan for them. He was helpful enough to share some images of the engine bay of a Tundra and how it tends to channel water (basically, straight on top of the headlight and connections!).

I will add here, for anyone contemplating them - they do have some of the old stock units left WITH the leveling motor. I ordered the black; they didn't have the jet black (my first preference, but after looking at pics online the black actually looks pretty sharp), and I'm not sure on the chrome.

    Already got your answer lol.

I paid $300 for the set. I'll just replace them if they fail early. So far so good though.

    Alpharex Correct Wiring.jpg [IMG]
I did not see anyone post a picture of how to wire the harness for the Alpharex Pro's. If it has been posted I apologize for a repeat. I just installed mine yesterday and started searching the Tundras.com forums to figure out why I was getting the dreaded amber halo instead of the bright white. Lo and behold I found my answer on this thread back in the 453 and 454 thread I think it was :monocle:.

The instructions, as been discussed, are a little vague. It needs a diagram of this photo in them as well, in my opinion. To my point, the RED circles are the harness attached to the Alpharex assembly, the BLUE circle is the harness from the truck. The picture shows the grey plug from the assembly going to the bulb, and the black plug from the assembly going to the grey plug from the truck. This is the way.

Another issue I have seen, is the yellow plug it says that is not used. If you read the instructions it does indeed tell you to plug in the yellow plug on the side closest to the DRL module as you can't plug in the other side as shown in my picture. I hope this helps, thanks!

can't remember if I posted it here already but I really considered getting the Alpharex but I'm sure glad I spent a little extra and got the Morimoto XB when they were on sale black Friday. The major red flag was how many people were complaining about condensation. Another was the need to buy H7 LEDs and still using the halogen turn signal bulbs. Those two, with the cost of the Alpharex and risk of condensation equates to almost as much as the Morimoto. I really had hoped the Alpharex had solved their issue but it's been a good year since I really considered buying it and it does not seem like the problem has been solved.

I'm not sure who said you had to have the H7 LED's that's false. I am running the halogens and they are more than sufficient. I could buy 3+ sets of Alpha's over 1 set of Morimoto's I got my Rex's for 289. They were easy to install, work great and I love the look. I haven't had a single issue with them. Most people only log on to complain there are far more of us without any problems.

I'm sure halogen is more than sufficient but the mod bug will catch on with me and want to get LEDs.

The halogen bulbs were terrible, I had to replace them just to see the road.

Keep in mind that there are LOTS of LED lights available out there...I've been running a set of LED bulbs I got from Amazon 2+ years ago (Beamtech) that I probably paid $30 for and have been more than happy with in the stock housing. I got them when they were the relatively new style where they upgraded the chip placement to better mimic halogen light output. I'm planning on putting HIDs in the Alpharex when they arrive though. From reading online...LED setups run hotter (hence the giant heat sinks) and the HIDs should match up with the projectors better.

Alpharex did warn me there are potential issues with the HIDs as well though, since drilling the dust cap on the back can open them up to potential moisture issues if not sealed back up properly. And by "moisture issues", they showed me some videos of how the Tundra tends to channel water...by dumping it from different directions right on top of the headlight assembly :|

I put Sealight LED’s in my new stock housings and couldn’t be happier. So happy, that I put them in the wife’s minivan and kids cars. As of yet, none of us has been flashed by oncoming cars. For $36 a set, it was much cheaper than the expensive halogens and last longer. The expensive halogens never seem to last longer than a year if you’re lucky.

I have a pair of older Beamtech bulbs in currently and the results have been solid (2+ years without issue). They're older but the newer "style" blade setup designed to more closely mimic the light output of halogens, so they work quite well with no real glare to speak of. My driver for the Alpharex were really just updating the look of the truck overall. I am hoping the projector with a good bulb setup will provide better lighting as well, with a cleaner cutoff. While I am happy with the current LEDs, projectors should be better if done right.

I tried a set of them once when I had my Acura RSX (circa 2005ish) - the first set I had blew when I turned the headlights on the first time. Which was a blast, because that meant I drove back to the store to get them replaced in the dark...basically drove around with my high beams on for a few miles lol...the second set lasted about 3-4 months, and I've never gone back to them since. Since the wattage is the same, they just make the filament thinner so it burns hotter/brighter...but yeah, they last nowhere near as long in my experience.

Finally had some time to get the lights installed, definitely looks better. I took them out the box and resealed them, not gonna take any chances on condensation.

My harness must be different because no way I can hook it up like that. The arex connectors can only go together and won't fit my turn signal connector or vice versa. Not sure if there if the instructions are different for the sequential and non sequential turn but I have the sequential or I should have the sequential assembly.

Man not sure why I can't get this high beam to properly click in place.. already spread the pins out and still won't turn on. On pic it looks like it should be fine to connect.. my old spyders click in fine and also have the the lines to align with the factory connector 2 slits.

Finally got my high beam connector to click in place.. guess it needed even more separating or the pins. Now to adjust the beams they are aiming super high.

    Pretty things
I've actually had some Phillips (xtra vision?) halogen bulbs in my bimmer's projectors for the last 5 or 6 years.

It's no HID or even LED in brightness, but they were noticeably brighter than the standard bulbs and have proven to be long lived (knock wood). The car lives outside here in Colorado where it is currently below zero, which seems to be hard on bulbs.

Could just be a thing with the startup voltage on the cars...I'm glad you have had better luck than I did, because that sucked!
