Well I am loving my new Nova's, the light output is incredible, and the brights are insane :D. I just installed the SS3 Fogs , which are also insanely bright. I might have to make a adjustments to compensate for these fogs.

I just had to look. Interesting, but I'm not sold on leds. I'm assuming a 6000k range as that's most leds? 6000k washes out in the rain and snow. Doesn't work for me living in MN. That's why I have 4300k HIDs in place. If only leds were built with more color temperature options.

LED Pro's for 14+? I just looked on their site and Facebook page and didn't see them. I know the high beam has always been LED but I'd be very interested in a full LED, "mid-night" version for the 14+

I'm digging my pro headlights. I couldn't justify the price of the nova's and I really like the lower color temperature of the stock incandescent. Anyways I made a video of the start up sequence.

Is everyone happy with the startup sequence on these? It's definitely unique, and is growing on me. I didn't see an option to not get it.

The first batches had the non start up option to cut down cost. I believe you can still find it on Amazon.

But honestly I never see it. You're sitting in your truck when you turn on the ignition. And it's such a brief sweep.

I'm little disappointed in these headlights. The passenger side project must be sitting at an angle, and the driver's side has a dead spot. The picture is with the stock bulbs, but the same thing occurred with different bulbs.

Just ordered a set of Pros today. It seems that these are definitely a great mid option headlight, exactly what I'm looking for.

I just installed a set of these AlphaRex NOVA-Series LED Headlights and the brights don't work. I found disconnected wiring in the headlights and there was no DRL fuse jumper. My set was not Plug and Play. After a trip the the auto store I have them working but I still have no brights. For the $$$ I expected A LOT more! I have contacted AlphaRex, we'll see what happens.

What do you mean disconnected wiring? Did the headlights not come with high beam connectors to plug in to your factory harness. Also what is a drl fuse jumper? You should have gotten a control box for your drls that is plug n play, there should have been a grey wire to wire in a fuse tap to ignition or wherever you want to connect.
    You have pics ?

The whole story is ... Yes disconnected wiring! Yes, the headlights did come with high beam connectors to plug in to my factory harness. But, after I plugged everything in, "Correcty", I tested out the lights and they did not work. I unscrewed the large cap off the back and nothing was connected. I reconnected the wiring, (to what made since) went to the parts store to get a fuse jumper for the DRL. Installed the jumper and everything works, except the brights.

Got the Pros installed today. I got the version with leveling motors. Not quite sure it was worth the extra money, but they function like the factory headlights up and down. Overall, I love the look of the lights. Definitely adds a modernized look to the front end. Still using the halogen headlight bulbs that came with them, but I may try some LED bulbs.

So I ended up getting an HID kit. I went with a 35w Hylux kit and 5k Morimoto bulbs from TRS. I have this exact kit in another car and have been pleased with it. Install was straight forward. Had to drill holes in the dust caps to run the bulb wire to the ballast. The bulb wiring includes integrated grommets to seal everything up nicely. I still added a little silicone just in case.
First picture is HID low beams only.
Second picture is HID low beams + Diode dynamics SS3 Pro Yellow fog lights. Definitely an awesome combo!

Nope, just low beams. The alpharex pros already have an LED high beam.

After a few calls to AlphaRex and some custom wiring I have the headlights working. Come to find out, My wiring harness is a little different than all the others. The Highbeam pigtail is the older version. I Custom wired them in while I waited for a "9006 to H11 Headlight Conversion Pigtail." I also needed to get the fuse jumper for the DayTime running lights. I ran that out the side so I could hide the wiring.

Am I missing something? Are these headlights a royal pain in the ass to install with limited knowledge of their durability? They don't seem all that cheap either.

they are not a total pain. And yes they are expensive. I had a cheap pair before. They lasted 5 years before they failed. Water was getting in them and I needed to buff them every few months because of the cheap construction. The fronts scratched very easy.
There were only 576 of my truck made in 2007. Alphrex said they have never heard of the problems I had. We think Toyota changed the wiring harness during the production of these trucks. The fuse box jumper is only necessary if you want daytime running lights. Otherwise you can leave that part out.

Alright, so now one of my lights has bad condensation. I'm guessing I need to start by re-sealing the dust cap where I drilled a hole for the hid bulb.

What is the best way to get the condensation out of the light? Will it eventually clear up?
